That's the question I've been asking myself every June since Amazon Prime first hooked me more than 10 years ago with a deeply discounted rate for college students. Let's audit the Prime perks that I do — and don't — use, and see if it's worth keeping around for another year. But the convenience of being able to find most products I'm shopping for and receive them in a timely manner is still a huge value for me. Smith Collection/gado | Archive Photos | Getty ImagesOn paper, there's value that I'm leaving on the table with my Prime membership. The newly added Grubhub+ membership is nice to have, but spending more money on take-out because of Amazon Prime will only make my membership feel more expensive, not less.

Netflix co-founder Marc Randolph's greatest source of pride isn't helping to launch the streaming giant. In the post, which Randolph also published on LinkedIn last year, he wrote that the boundary helped him put work in perspective. "The thing I'm most proud of in my life is not the companies I started," wrote Randolph, who currently sits on a variety of company boards, including Solo Brands. Randolph's family-prioritizing goal may have helped him succeed professionally, too: Setting boundaries between your work and personal life can prevent burnout, experts say. Even Randolph hasn't been immune to breaking his own rule, he wrote in a post on Substack in February.

The streaming giant has been reaching out to broadcasters this week in the hopes of finding a partner to produce the NFL games it will air on Christmas Day this year, according to people familiar with the matter. Netflix will show two games on Christmas Day this year, followed by at least one matchup in both 2025 and 2026, the company announced last month. Unlike WWE, Netflix's deal for Christmas NFL games doesn't come with a full production team. Sony Pictures Entertainment is acquiring Alamo Drafthouse Cinema and will manage its 35 locations, a rare example of a traditional Hollywood studio’s owning a theater chain. The deal, announced Wednesday, followed the Justice Department’s decision in 2020 to rescind the so-called Paramount consent decrees — movie distribution rules dating to 1949 that forced the largest Hollywood studios to sell off their theater holdings. Those rules were intended to prevent studios from controlling the film business, from creation to exhibition. In recent years, Netflix, the leading streaming company, has bought theaters to show films. Alamo, the seventh-largest theater chain in North America, operates theaters in 25 metro areas across the United States and has invested in distinctive programming and food offerings in an attempt to lure in moviegoers away from major multiplexes.

Kevin Spacey says he was ‘too handsy’ in the past

CNN —Kevin Spacey has said that he was “too handsy” and that he’s been guilty of “pushing the boundaries” in the past, in a lengthy interview released Tuesday. The two-time Oscar winner was responding to claims of inappropriate behavior in an interview that ran for more than 90 minutes. “I’m absolutely 150% prepared to take accountability for those things and mistakes that I made… bad, bad, bad, behavior some times,” he told Piers Morgan Uncensored on YouTube. Last year, Spacey, 64, was found not guilty of seven counts of sexual assault and two counts of other serious sexual offenses following a four-week trial in London. The allegations covered a period between 2004 and 2013, when Spacey served as artistic director at the Old Vic theater in the British capital.
