They're branding themselves as more of a high-intensity training equipment provider than just a stair-climbing apparatus provider these days. Strength training is ideal for extending your "play span," your ability to keep doing what you love as you age. "What strength training really affords people is to make age just feel like a number," he said.

Nearly a week after Kendrick Lamar was announced as the headliner of the Super Bowl Halftime show, New Orleans native Lil Wayne has admitted that not being chosen for the spot “broke me.”“That hurt, it hurt a lot,” he said in a video statement posted on Friday morning to Instagram. Almost immediately after Lamar, a Los Angeles native, was announced as the headliner for the 2025 Super Bowl Halftime show, uproar began online over him being chosen instead of Wayne. Complicating the situation further, Super Bowl entertainment is overseen by Jay-Z’s Roc Nation company, although the NFL and the city of New Orleans also played a role in the pick. The hotly anticipated results are in from a landmark pair of major clinical trials of a long-acting, injectable HIV-prevention drug that only requires dosing every six months. The pharma giant has already secured approval for the injectable drug in treating highly drug-resistant HIV. Given the clear statistical superiority of lenacapavir over Truvada, the trial’s blinded phase will now be ended several months early. When taken as prescribed, Truvada is over 99% effective at preventing HIV; Descovy is comparably effective. This chorus is sure to get louder now that lenacapavir is officially highly effective at protecting gay and bisexual men and trans people as well.

In a statement Wednesday, his attorney said Combs “is shocked and disappointed” by Richard’s lawsuit. According to the suit, Richard tried multiple times to intervene, offered Ventura support and encouraged her to leave Combs. Like other lawsuits, including Ventura’s, Richard’s suit depicts Combs as violent and controlling. Throughout the productions of the “Making the Band” series, the suit alleges, she and the members of Danity Kane were deprived of basic needs such as adequate food and sleep. The suit also alleges Richard attended parties at Combs’ houses, where she witnessed what she believed were inebriated underage girls being sexually violated by Combs and his guests.

Bacon may not be as greasy if you cook it in an air fryer. grass-lifeisgood/ShutterstockJess Dang, chef and founder of meal-planning service Cook Smarts, told Business Insider that bacon is one of her favorite things to cook in an air fryer. "Fat drips from the bacon and out of the basket, so the bacon ends up leaner," she told BI. "It's so much less messy and requires less supervision than other cooking methods."

The rate of weight loss with the experimental pill, called amycretin, appears to be more rapid than what’s seen for other drugs. “It’s roughly double the weight loss rate seen with current GLP-1 agonists and approaching procedural or surgical-level outcomes,” said Dr. Christopher McGowan, a gastroenterologist who runs a weight loss clinic in North Carolina. McGowan said that while the weight loss was significant, he still has concerns about how fast people lost weight. “While losing weight is seemingly the end goal, how that weight is lost matters,” he said. Spratt said she would like to know how much of the weight loss came from fat compared with muscle.

Belly fat tends to get a bad rap, but new research shows that one kind of belly fat can be healthier than others — provided you’re willing to get moving. The fat, the study found, essentially behaved differently in people with the same percentage of body fat, based on their long-term exercise habits. Regular exercisers had less rigid or fibrous fat tissue, which allows fat cells beneath the skin to expand to store fat, one of the body’s primary sources of energy. While expanding fat cells may sound like a bad thing, it’s actually better for health than having inflexible fat tissue. Another indication of this was that they had more proteins involved with fat metabolism in their fat tissue, the study found.

One way to tackle these problems is to make chocolate without using cocoa beans — the fermented seed of the cacao tree. It also makes cocoa powder and cocoa butter substitutes. “Instead of cocoa beans, we use fava beans sourced from farms across the UK and Europe, and then we ferment them in a similar way that cocoa farmers ferment their cocoa beans,” said Ross Newton, CEO of Nukoko, a UK-based startup that aims to launch on its domestic market next year. A study published this year shows it’s possible to make chocolate using only the cocoa pod, by replacing traditional sugar with a cocoa gel. “You make chocolate using only components from the fruit and not conventional crystallized sugar from sugar beets.

CNN —Exercise doesn’t just help you lose fat. Exercise is important for many facets of health, and it may even impact how fat is stored, a new study showed. “Fat tissue itself is very, very important for health,” he said. The goal isn’t more fat tissue, but better capacity to store it, Horowitz said. Fat tissue is supposed to be stored under the skin, and if it can’t go there it’s going to go other places such as your liver, heart or pancreas, he added.

The popular mukbang YouTuber, known for eating enormous amounts of food on camera, fooled the internet by completing a secret weight loss journey while uploading old videos to mask his progress. Nikocado Avocado, whose real name is Nicholas Perry, revealed his new look — a drastically slimmer appearance compared with his look in his other recent YouTube videos — to millions of subscribers Friday. It drew a flurry of speculation around whether he could have achieved such extreme weight loss in the months since his most recent uploads, all of which showed him at a considerably larger size. I edited the videos so that they would appear recent, allowing me to focus on healing my body behind the scenes,” Perry wrote in an email. “While everybody pointed and laughed at me for over-consuming food, I was in total control the entire time,” Perry wrote.

The psychotherapist's 2020 book, "Polysecure," has become the poly bible for an increasingly queer and fluid generation. As consensual nonmonogamy went mainstream, searches for Fern's "Polysecure" spiked. "I've heard authors joke they get a cup of coffee from their book," Fern said. When Jessica Fern and Dave Cooley opened up their relationship, Cooley was surprised at the "searing anguish" he felt about his wife seeing other men. Beyond Meat will introduce a whole-muscle steak alternative as part of its pivot to win over health-conscious consumers. In recent months, Brown has blamed some of the plant-based meat industry's woes on misinformation from the meat industry and cattle farmers, such as skepticism about plant-based meat's processing. Beyond already sells plant-based steak tips, but the new product mimics the texture of a filet with mycelium, the rootlike part of fungi. Brown envisions the steak alternative as a substitute for chicken, topping salads and stuffing burritos as a source of protein. The new products have short ingredients lists, in the hopes of winning over customers who previously thought plant-based meat was too processed.

So Dr. Tim Spector, a British epidemiologist, gut health expert, and cofounder of the science and nutrition company ZOE, has a go-to breakfast combination that he eats every morning that is balanced and gut-healthy. "I used to have granola with some skim milk, orange juice, and tea, and I thought that was a super healthy breakfast," he said. But since swapping to a more gut-friendly breakfast, Spector has found that he stays full "right through to lunch," and his energy levels are consistent all morning. CNN —Human brain samples collected at autopsy in early 2024 contained more tiny shards of plastic than samples collected eight years prior, according to a preprint posted online in May. “Compared to autopsy brain samples from 2016, that’s about 50% higher,” Campen said. Nanoplastics are the most worrisome plastics for human health, experts say, because the minuscule pieces can take up residence inside individual cells. In that report, the consortium determined plastics are associated with harms to human health at every single stage of the plastic lifecycle. A March 2024 study found 1 liter of bottled water — the equivalent of two standard-size bottled waters typically purchased by consumers — contained an average of 240,000 plastic particles from seven types of plastics.

Deere (DE) , headquartered in Moline, Illinois, manufactures agricultural machinery, heavy equipment, forestry machinery, diesel engines, and related components. One of the oldest companies in the United States, Deere traces its history back to John Deere's "self-scouring plow" in 1837. However, even assuming 50 bushels per acre and a $5/bushel average price increase, the revenue per acre would have risen by ~$250/acre. However, while Deere & Company stock has underperformed the S & P this year, its enterprise value is nearly $100 Billion, almost double the company's valuation in January 2020, just before the pandemic. Unsurprisingly, DE options are pricing in a larger-than-average 6% move when the company reports earnings on Thursday.
