Women earned 78 cents for every dollar that men made in 2022, according to National Partnership for Women and Families. Forty-two percent of the wage gap is the result of occupational segregation, which was exacerbated by the pandemic, the U.S. Department of Labor has found. To that point, half of U.S. adults said women being treated differently by employers contributes to the pay gap, the Pew Research Center found. Women spend an average 51.6 minutes a day caring for household children, other household members and nonhousehold members, according to a new analysis from the National Partnership for Women and Families. Men spend an average 26.4 minutes daily on such tasks. On a broader level, unpaid caregiving is worth $305.01 billion a year for men and $626.57 billion for women, the National Partnership for Women and Families estimates. In other words, the caregiving time gap costs women an extra $321.56 billion a year. About 38 million people provided unpaid care to an adult family member or friend in 2021, according to the latest data from AARP.

The most lucrative college degrees are still largely held by men, a Bankrate study has found. It found that 78% of those who held the 20-highest paying bachelor's degrees were men, while only 22% were women. In electrical engineering, 85% of degree holders were men and 15% were women, with the average salary totaling $110,000. Women’s labor force participation has rebounded from the pandemic “she-cession” and returned to its pre-pandemic form of making progressively historic labor market gains. The research sought to answer several questions about paternal participation in breastfeeding and the use of safe sleep practices for babies. And many could do more to support mothers who breastfeed, which can provide key health benefits for babies, the study indicated.
