Nov 21 (Reuters) - Beth Mead has been recalled to the England squad for the first time in over a year after recovering from an anterior cruciate ligament injury. Manager Sarina Wiegman named her squad for the Lionesses' last two games of the Nations League on Tuesday. Team GB is made up of players from England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland and as the highest ranked British team, England are the nominated nation to qualify on Britain's behalf. This means Scotland may need to lose against England if they are to take part in the Olympics. The Netherlands have a home game with Belgium in their final group game.

ANKARA (Reuters) - More than 100 evacuees from Gaza are set to arrive in Turkey on Monday, including dozens of people who will receive medical treatment there, Turkey's health minister and a foreign ministry source said. He said last week that Ankara wanted to bring as many of the nearly 1,000 cancer patients from Gaza to Turkey as possible. The first 27 patients arrived in Ankara last Thursday. The foreign ministry source also said that if conditions on the ground permit, Turkey aimed to get around 100 more people out of Gaza on Monday. A month ago, Turkish Deputy Foreign Minister Ahmet Yildiz said some 700 people, including Turkish, Palestinian, and northern Cypriot citizens, had applied to Turkey to be evacuated from Gaza.

Hamas has repeatedly denied that its fighters hide under hospitals, as have Gazan health officials and hospital directors. Zarquot said “the tunnel they claim to be a Hamas tunnel is actually an electrical wire assembly point. CNN —Israeli ground forces are inside Gaza having entered the enclave overnight, as Palestinians experienced what they have described as the most intense round of airstrikes since Israel began its retaliation against Hamas’ October 7 terror attack. Israeli forces “went into the Gaza Strip and expanded the ground operation where infantry, armour and engineer units and artillery with heavy fire are taking part,” Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) spokesman Daniel Hagari said Saturday morning during a press briefing in Tel Aviv. “The forces are in the field and continue the fighting,” he added, without giving further details. Both those raids saw ground forces withdraw after a few hours. Authorities were still searching Friday for the suspect in a mass shooting that killed at least 18 people at a bowling alley and a bar in Lewiston, Maine, as the massive, multi-agency effort entered its second day. A warrant has been issued for the arrest of Robert Card, 40, of Bowdoin, Maine on multiple counts of murder. Card is considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached under any circumstances, police said. Residents in Androscoggin County and northern Sagadahoc County were under shelter in police orders and had been told to lock their doors as federal, state, county and municipal law enforcement searched for Card, police said. As recently as this summer, Card suffered from mental health issues, law enforcement and Defense Department officials told NBC News.

Scientists gathered 105 instances of baleen whales performing a strange behavior called kelping. This could be to help the whales exfoliate, or for them to entertain themselves, researchers said. The group gathered over a hundred videos and photos from social media of whales "kelping", which led them to realize that this behavior isn't isolated to one group of baleen whales. AdvertisementAdvertisementBecause this behavior turned out to be so widespread, the researchers began to speculate why the whales were doing it. But it's also possible, the researchers wrote, that the whales are using the kelp to exfoliate their skin, removing parasites and bacteria.
