[1/5] People react as police use tear gas to disperse them during a protest to condemn the shooting incident on a long march held by Pakistan's former Prime Minister Imran Khan in Wazirabad, in Rawalpindi, Pakistan November 4, 2022. The former cricket star, who has been pressing for a general election since he was ousted as prime minister after losing a confidence vote in parliament in April, was shot at the rally last Thursday. Khan's successor as prime minister, Shehbaz Sharif, has rejected his demand for new polls and the deadlock has stoked instability in the nuclear-armed country of 220 million people. Television footage showed Khan's supporters burning tyres as they set up protest camps across roads. Khan, 70, launched what is known as a long-march protest rally from Lahore to the capital on Oct. 28.
HELSINKI, Nov 1 (Reuters) - Finland's Nokian Tyres (TYRES.HE) on Tuesday said it will invest 650 million euros ($645.19 million) to build a new passenger car tyre factory in Romania. Built to make 6 million tyres per year, the Romanian plant is set to replace some of the lost output from Nokian's now divested Russian operation which had the annual capacity to produce 17 million passenger car tyres. The new plant will allow the company to "start building the new Nokian Tyres without Russia", Chief Executive Jukka Moisio said. The new factory, which Nokian aims to make the industry's first zero CO2 emissions plant, will employ 500 people. Nokian said it chose Oradea in northwest Romania because it was conveniently located to sell tyres in central Europe and green energy was available near the site.
Oct 25 (Reuters) - French tyre maker Michelin (MICP.PA) on Tuesday cut its full-year free cash flow guidance citing an uncertain demand outlook, soaring cost inflation and continued supply chain disruptions, but posted better-than-expected quarterly sales. The company adjusted its structural free cash flow guidance to 700 million euros having previously anticipated more than 1.2 billion euros, due to the one-off the impact of inflation and, to some extent, currency effect on its working capital. Michelin, which makes tyres used in cars, aircraft, bicycles and industrial equipment, still expects an operating income from its main business to reach over 3.2 billion euros ($3.2 billion) this year. Sales rose 20.5% year-on-year to 7.44 billion euros in the third quarter. Analysts polled by the company expected sales of 7.16 billion euros.

Red Bull now have an unbeatable 656 points to Ferrari's 469. The Dutch 25-year-old secured his second title in Japan two weeks ago. Red Bull's Sergio Perez was fourth with Russell, who secured a bonus point for fastest lap, fifth and Lando Norris sixth for McLaren.

Nocil is also eyeing strong demand from the domestic markets, where China has a strong footing, with the government encouraging its 'Make in India' programme that is aimed at boosting local manufacturing.
CGT trade union flag flutters as tyres set on fire by demonstrators burn in front of the ExxonMobil oil refinery, in Port-Jerome-sur-Seine, France, October 12, 2022. The government said it was requisitioning some staff at the Gravenchon-Port Jerome depot run by Exxon's (XOM.N) Esso France business, where the hardline CGT union remains on strike despite an agreement between management and other unions over pay. Refinery and fuel depot stoppages in France are among the longest since the cost-of-living crisis sparked labour unrest across Europe. "In view of a strike by part of the Port-Jerome staff, in Normandy, the government launches the requisition of staff necessary to operate the depot. The strike at TotalEnergies' French refineries resumed across all sites on Wednesday, the CGT said.
