BUENOS AIRES, April 7 (Reuters) - Argentina's state oil company YPF has agreed to pay nearly $300 million to the creditors of one of its now-bankrupt subsidiaries after they sued the company in relation to a historical U.S. environmental case, it said. In 2016, Maxus Energy Corporation filed for chapter 11 protection in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Delaware. YPF said its former subsidiary had met its obligations until then, without specifying if these were financial or environmental. Under the conciliation agreement reached this week, the Maxus Liquidation Trust agreed to drop the claims it had filed against both YPF and co-defendant Spanish oil company Repsol, the statement issued by YPF said. In turn, YPF and Repsol agreed to pay the trust $287.5 million each, without admitting any responsibility.

Shares of WWE fell in premarket trading, while Endeavor shares rose. Ari Emanuel will act as chief executive of both Endeavor and the new company, the companies said. McMahon, likewise, will be executive chairman, while Endeavor President and COO Mark Shapiro will also work in the same roles at the new company. Pemex (PEMX.UL) said in a statement that it had "safely halted" operations in one of the plants at the Cadereyta refinery in the afternoon; the company added there was no risk to the population and the emissions were under control. Nuevo Leon's environment ministry, however, said in a statement that it had repeatedly detected "intensified" emissions from the refinery, particularly at night, and that the refinery was responsible for 90% of sulfur dioxide emissions in the metropolitan area of Monterrey city, the state's capital. The ministry said that state environmental law gave it the right, if necessary, to halt operations at the refinery. Ebrard said in an interview late on Thursday that Mexico was keen to capitalize on the global shift to electric vehicles. "What they are more concerned about is having a guaranteed supply of clean energy, having water, having the personnel they need, facilitate electric power transmission lines," he said. Harald Gottsche, head of the BMW plant in the state of San Luis Potosi, which will produce fully electric cars, said Mexico also needs to push the consumer shift to electric vehicles. In addition to electric vehicles, Ebrard said he was also keen to attract more semiconductor and battery businesses - and build out transport infrastructure in the port of Coatzacoalcos, in the Gulf of Mexico.
