While school meal prices vary throughout the country, a survey conducted by the School Nutrition Association, a trade organization, found that lunches typically cost about $2.83 for elementary school students, $3 for middle school students and $3.05 for high school students. The prices mean that the $100 million in transaction fees could have bought another 33 million or so school lunches or over 55 million school breakfasts. “Junk fees on school lunch should not exist. A handful of states have made universal school meals permanent, but most have returned to the pre-pandemic format. “School lunch should always be free, and definitely free of judgment,” Fetterman said at the hearing on Wednesday.

Iranian hackers have continued to make attempts since late June to transmit nonpublic stolen material tied to Trump’s campaign to media organizations, according to Wednesday’s statement, which noted that the FBI is tracking the activity. In a statement Wednesday, Trump campaign spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt said Iranians wanted to help Vice President Kamala Harris, who replaced Biden as the Democratic nominee, "because they know President Trump will restore his tough sanctions and stand against their reign of terror." To be known as the Iran, Iran, Iran case!" Harris campaign spokesperson Morgan Finkelstein said the campaign has cooperated with law enforcement since it learned about the hacking effort. Corporate leaders can't "bulls---" their employees about the impact of artificial intelligence on the workforce and the ways in which the technology will affect jobs more broadly, according to one tech billionaire. Even though it's a given AI will impact the workforce, "none of us have it all completely figured out," he said. If that's happening, leaders need to do some self-reflection, Rinne said, and ask themselves if they've been glossing. Tom Lee is not sold on the stock market's rally after the Federal Reserve cut interest rates. The S & P 500 and Dow Jones Industrial Average popped to fresh records Thursday, a day after the Fed lowered rates by a half percentage point. Many investors expected the central bank to lower rates by just a quarter percentage point. Lee was correctly bullish heading into 2024 and has nailed several bold short-term calls on the market. Despite the mixed backdrop, Lee said small-cap and cyclical stocks, such as industrials and financials, stand to benefit from lower rates.
