A Motorola exec said that one in five people buying a model of its foldable phone were iPhone users. Apple is rumored to be making — or at least investigating making — a foldable phone of its own. One in five people purchasing Motorola's Razr phone apparently gave up an iPhone to do so. Yi's comments came ahead of the June 23 release of the Razr Plus phone, which features a larger screen and starts at $999.99. Foldable phones are a blast from the pastAnd for all the retro energy of flip phones, there's no guarantee that younger buyers will embrace them.

CNN —LeBron James proved he is human after all as the Los Angeles Lakers fell to a 108-103 Game 2 playoff loss against the Denver Nuggets. With the Lakers up by eight points early in the second, James had a clear run to the basket after being found by Rui Hachimura in transition. Jack Dempsey/APLeBron blowing the easy dunk was just one of the many uncharacteristic errors made by the 19-time All-Star in the Game 2 loss. After the game, James reflected on the 0-2 hole the Lakers find themselves in and said that it wasn’t the end of the world. To go with four steals, five assists and 10 rebounds, Murray scored an incredible 37 points in the huge win.
But 29% of U.S. corn areas and 21% of soybean areas are in a drought versus 21% and 12% a year ago, respectively. Some 48% of winter wheat areas are experiencing drought versus 68% a year ago, but 16% of it is currently under exceptional drought versus just 3% a year ago. That is despite decent conditions in soft red wheat states in the east. The Drought Monitor shows 64% of Kansas in extreme or worse drought this week, topped only by a stretch from July 2012 to March 2013 in records back to 2000. The latest Drought Monitor stats in the top corn state are almost identical to the same point in 2021, leading into Iowa’s record corn-yielding season.
Similarly, southeastern regional bank First Horizon was teetering, having scrapped a $13 billion merger with Canada’s TD bank. That market pessimism was echoed by Bill Ackman, the billionaire investor, who tweeted Thursday that regional banks broadly are in trouble. Without a miracle from DC, the outlook for regional banks is not great. There is so much pessimism percolating on Wall Street, smaller banks are going to get crushed. That means we can expect more bank failures, and more Wall Street panic, in the weeks and months ahead.

In fact, “Super Mario” helped push the April domestic box office up 11.5 percent compared with prepandemic levels, according to the box office analyst David A. The 2023 year-to-date box office deficit is now down 21.8 percent compared with that average.

The Sulacks weighed their options: Have a transplant with a match that was less than ideal – far less – or wait for gene therapy to become available. April 13 (Reuters) - Sarepta Therapeutics Inc's shares (SRPT.O) fell more than 6% on Thursday as Stat News reported that the U.S. health regulator's staff were inclined to reject the company's gene therapy which is currently under review. Some staff at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) had reached a "non-binding conclusion" that Sarepta's gene therapy should not be given approval, prompting FDA official Peter Marks to intervene and instead schedule an advisory meeting on May 12, Stat News reported, citing sources. As last Sunday’s NCAA Elite Eight game between the Iowa and Louisville women’s basketball teams unfolded, the court at Seattle’s Climate Pledge Arena seemed to become a Broadway stage with an invisible spotlight tracking one player: the Hawkeyes’ Caitlin Clark. When the curtain fell, Clark not only finished with a jaw-dropping 41 points in Iowa’s 97-83 win. She added 12 assists and 10 rebounds to produce the first official 40-point triple-double in an NCAA tournament game. (Assists didn’t become an official stat until 1984.)
Kansas State’s Keyontae Johnson soared into the national spotlight on Thursday night when he slammed home an alley-oop pass from teammate Markquis Nowell, completing an audacious trick play that sealed a dramatic March Madness win over Michigan State. The play—which began with Nowell appearing to feign an argument with Kansas State coach Jerome Tang as a distracting ruse—completed a performance in which Johnson scored 22 points and played all 45 minutes of the overtime contest. That last stat might be the most remarkable of all given Johnson’s first, unwelcome turn in the spotlight more than two years ago.

Clancy's Auto Body Shop in the Fort Lauderdale area has amassed a 224,000 following since posting its first TikTok video in February. The clip was made by the business' social media manager Joel Velazquez, and has over 24 million views as of Friday. It's affecting other members of the team, and I fear it will affect the way my team perceives me if I allow his behavior to continue. I feel not only for you having to manage John but also for your team members who are forced to deal with a combustible colleague. Your job as a manager is to make the work environment a safe, comfortable place where people can do their best work. You don't need to get into specifics, but acknowledging the situation and setting out protocols for effective team interaction will reassure people that standards are being set. It's also a good idea to check in with your team members one-on-one and ask for their patience and understanding.
Those changes mean that food companies could no longer market white bread as well as sugary cereals and yogurt as "healthy," according to the FDA. Sources of omega-3 fatty acids such as fish, for example, would get the "healthy" designation because of potential health benefits from that type of fat. The revised definition of "healthy" isn't a requirement for food companies, according to the FDA. Even so, many food companies closely follow nonbinding FDA guidelines. Another set of proposed FDA guidelines for plant-based milks, for example, drew ire from the dairy industry this week.
