The leaders of Japan and South Korea held their first bilateral meeting in nearly three years, another step toward recovery for frayed ties between two of the U.S.’s key Asian allies. Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida met with South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol for roughly 30 minutes Wednesday on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
