I had no intention of watching the Netflix docuseries “Harry & Meghan,” the first three episodes of which dropped Dec. 8. I want to admire Harry and Meghan. The fact is, I’ve always liked Meghan and Harry. I’m not sure if the point of “Harry & Meghan” was to make people feel sorry for them, but that’s certainly one of the messages I got, and I found it cringeworthy. I want to admire Harry and Meghan.
LONDON — Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan, were expected to level stinging new criticisms at the British royal family in the second installment of their Netflix documentary series, which was released Thursday morning. "I wasn’t just being thrown to the wolves, I was being fed to the wolves," Meghan says. The trailer shows Harry on board a plane, which he describes as a "freedom flight." Prince Harry and Meghan attend day two of the Invictus Games on April 17, 2022 in The Hague, Netherlands. Harry and Meghan are clearly keen to tell the story of their relationship and their rift with the royals from their perspective.
CNN —The last three episodes of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s Netflix documentary series were released Thursday. Harry said Meghan’s popularity in particular caused problems at the palace, recalling similarities with his mother Diana, who married into the royal family and was beloved by the public. The couple recalled how media coverage started to turn negative, with Meghan increasingly associated with racist tropes such as drugs, criminality or terrorism. More controversy around Archie’s birthThe couple recalled how their desire to keep some privacy around the birth of their first child caused a significant backlash. “The amount of abuse we got … for not wanting to serve our child up on a silver platter was incredible,” said Harry.
CNN —Prince Harry said it was “terrifying” to have his brother, Prince William, scream at him during his bitter split from the royal family, in the final installments of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s controversial Netflix documentary that were released Thursday. You kind of get used to that when you live within this family,” Harry added. Harry said he spoke to Queen Elizabeth II and arranged to meet her, with Meghan, before that split was finalized. Thursday’s release follows last week’s batch of episodes, in which Prince Harry criticized “unconscious bias” inside the family. An image of Prince Harry’s face edited onto a stock image of a man with a toddler is being shared by social media users as if it were showing Harry with his daughter, Lilibet. Many users appear to believe that the image shows Prince Harry with his daughter, while some point out that the baby shown is not Lilibet. The original image has been used on various websites since as early as 2014, according to reverse image search website TinEye (here). Actual images of Lilibet can be seen (here), (here) and (here). The image being shared has been altered to include Prince Harry’s face on top of a stock photo.
She said “the double standard was obvious” with the way that Catherine, Princess of Wales, had been treated by sections of the British media compared to Meghan, particularly during their pregnancies. “British media is disproportionately white, and that shapes the way stories are framed,” he said. In the third episode, footage shows Meghan and Harry attending a memorial service for Stephen Lawrence, a Black teenager killed in an attack by white youths in London in 1993. Instead, Harry refers to “unconscious bias” within the royal family, which Meghan helped to educate him on. Princess Michael of Kent attends a Christmas lunch for the extended royal family at Buckingham Palace on Dec. 20, 2017, wearing a "blackamoor" brooch.
At the start of their new, much-anticipated Netflix docuseries “Harry & Meghan,” the Duchess of Sussex — the woman formerly known as Meghan Markle — is asked what her motivations are for creating the documentary. The Oprah interview won Harry and Meghan a swell of support, but also prompted some audience anger. The royal family today must constantly justify its existence in the modern world. This is understandable: They’ve been out of the royal family for almost double the amount of time that Meghan spent within it. Harry and Meghan still have the potential to be a unique hybrid of unofficial statespeople, philanthropic ambassadors and celebrities with a near-celestial kind of star power.
Prince Harry with Meghan Markle appeared in public together for the first time at the Invictus Games in Toronto. Aside from showing the story of their courtship, the six episodes of “Harry & Meghan” also look set to highlight long-running grievances that have roiled Britain's royal family for years. The British tabloids have intensely scrutinized Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, publishing stories about her estranged family following her engagement and marriage to Harry in May 2018. In addition, Harry is challenging in court a decision by the British government to deny him police protection while in Britain. “In the Netflix trailer it’s implied the photographers, including me, were trying to get a shot of the royal couple — but that’s nonsense,” he told the tabloid.
Sacoolas pleaded guilty in October to causing death by careless driving, punishable by up to five years in prison. Speaking thought tears, Charles added: “There is an intense feeling of emptiness in the pit of my stomach without Harry around. “I didn’t lose just one son when Harry died, I lost Niall too. Sacoolas had diplomatic immunity claimed on her behalf and was able to leave the United Kingdom weeks after the accident. Cooper added that Sacoolas’ family was forced to relocate following Harry Dunn’s death after she received death threats via email and telephone.
The first three episodes of the project, titled “Harry & Meghan,” were released on Thursday after months of speculation that the couple would star in a tell-all series. And Harry accuses the royal family of “unconscious bias” that blinded them to the struggles he and Meghan experienced in the years and months leading up to their dramatic departure. The couple have spoken before about the constraints placed on them while members of the royal family, and that frustration re-emerged repeatedly in the documentary. Harry also compared Meghan to his mother, Princess Diana, who died in a car crash while being chased by paparazzi in 1997. CNN —Maybe the year of the rabbit came early – Bad Bunny was Spotify’s most-streamed artist worldwide in 2022, his third year in a row. The Puerto Rican superstar once again dominated Spotify Wrapped, the streaming service’s yearly roundup of the artists and songs its users spent the year listening to. Bad Bunny was already a star, but this year proved to be a blockbuster for the “Moscow Mule” singer. His smash-hit album “Un Verano Sin Ti,” which has since been nominated for album of the year at the upcoming Grammys, was also Spotify’s most-streamed album worldwide this year. Harry Styles, pictured performing during the 2022 Coachella festival, is featured on this year's Spotify Wrapped.
CNN —They say artists have to be willing to do anything for their art, and for Joe Pesci, that includes setting his head on fire. “It was a nice change of pace to do that particular type of slapstick comedy,” Pesci said of making the first two “Home Alone” films in the email interview, published on Tuesday. In the uber-successful franchise, Pesci played one half a bungling thief duo (alongside Daniel Stern) who is continually one-upped by a clever kid played by Macaulay Culkin. He acknowledged that the movies “were a more physical type of comedy, therefore, a little more demanding.”One example – when Pesci’s character Harry walks unsuspectingly into a booby trap laid by Culkin’s Kevin, leading to a fiery finish. (Pesci did not clarify during which film he sustained his injury.)

Although some considered the post to be satirical, others mistook the text as being an authentic extract from Prince Harry’s upcoming book. "The story about Prince Harry bowling is a play on words based on the title of the memoir, Spare, since a ‘spare’ is also a type of score in 10-pin bowling. The cover of Prince Harry’s coming memoir, “Spare,” forces its audience to look at him. Viewers may find traces of Princess Diana’s features in his face. The desert color palette, far from the rainy isle of his youth, washes him in a California glow. The prince, a person who well understands the power of a photograph, forgoes formal regalia and instead gives endless summer vibes with his T-shirt and leather-cord necklace.
NEW YORK — Prince Harry’s memoir, an object of obsessive anticipation worldwide since first announced last year, is coming out Jan. 10. “For Harry, this is his story at last.”The memoir’s title is an apparent reference to Prince Harry’s being a royal “spare,” not the first in line to succession. William, Prince of Wales, is next in line. The 416-page book will come out in 16 languages, from Dutch to Portuguese, and also will be released in an audio edition read by Prince Harry. “Penguin Random House is honored to be publishing Prince Harry’s candid and emotionally powerful story for readers everywhere,” the global CEO of Penguin Random House, Markus Dohle, said in a statement.

CNN —Harry Styles has always been one to color outside the lines as an artist, and his latest music video is only the latest example. In the video for “Music For a Sushi Restaurant,” which premiered on Thursday, the former One Direction star appears as a mer-creature – half man, half squid (or is it an octopus?) – who finds himself in the kitchen of a sushi restaurant as cooks all around him chop up and fry various aquatic animal for gourmet dishes. Standout moments include Styles’ mer-creature acting like a bit of a diva backstage at the divey establishment, getting a manicure and having everyone wait on him hand and, well, tentacle. “Music For a Sushi Restaurant” is the third single off Styles’ third studio album “Harry’s House,” released in May.
Little Simz performs on the West Holts stage at Worthy Farm in Somerset during the Glastonbury Festival in Britain, June 24, 2022. REUTERS/Dylan Martinez/LONDON, Oct 18 (Reuters) - Rapper Little Simz won the Mercury Prize for her fourth studio album "Sometimes I Might Be Introvert" on Tuesday, triumphing over contenders including Harry Styles and indie rock duo Wet Leg for the British music award. The 28-year-old, previously nominated in 2019 for album "Grey Area", was among favourites to scoop the award for her critically-acclaimed record. Like other nominees, Little Simz took to the stage at Tuesday's ceremony, originally due to be held last month but postponed following the death of Queen Elizabeth. "Supernova" by rock duo Nova Twins, musician Self Esteem's "Prioritise Pleasure", singer-songwriter Sam Fender's chart-topping "Seventeen Going Under", Wet Leg's hit self-titled debut album and post-punk Yard Act's debut album "The Overload" completed the list.
This piece has been adapted from "We Are Proud Boys: How a Right-Wing Street Gang Ushered in a New Era of American Extremism," by Andy Campbell. Indeed, leaders of the Oath Keepers and Proud Boys extremist groups face seditious conspiracy charges over what the Justice Department believes is an outsize role in the planning and execution of the insurrection. In an interview with me, one of the antifascists, a woman who supports medics in the field at demonstrations, recalled a harrowing scene in which a group of Proud Boys had her crew cornered and outnumbered, when one of them lunged at her:The Proud Boys started spraying something into the crowd. Those concerns are paramount for all antifascist activists, but especially among women fighting back against misogynist groups like the Proud Boys. The Puerto Rican performer is the most-nominated artists for the 2022 American Music Awards, earning eight nominations, among them his first-ever for artist of the year. Beyoncé, Drake and Taylor Swift each earned six nominations, while Adele, Harry Styles and The Weeknd came in with five a piece. And elsewhere, Elton John made history for what the show called being “the longest-recognized artists” in the show’s history. Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, says that “just by existing,” she and her husband Prince Harry “upset the dynamic of the hierarchy” when they were in the U.K. The former actress made headlines in Britain on Tuesday with comments made during an interview with U.S. magazine The Cut. In the interview published Monday, the duchess said it’s not easy to “forgive” when asked if there was room for forgiveness between her, Britain’s royal family and her own family. Since their move to California, where they are now settled with their two young children, they have publicly discussed their unhappiness with the royal family. In a bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey last year, Meghan spoke about racism within the monarchy and Harry said Charles had stopped taking his calls.
