With 19 teams still in the postseason hunt entering the final weekend, there was no shortage of gridiron suspense unfolding across the United States. At every stadium before kickoff there was an announcement acknowledging Hamlin and the first responders and medical caregivers. But the Bills that provided Hamlin with the best tribute of all, harnessing their emotions to secure a victory and the AFC second seed. "We just wanted to come out and play free, play loose, play for (Damar)," said Bills quarterback Josh Allen, who also threw three touchdown passes. Despite the loss, the Giants also qualify for the postseason, moving on to the wildcard, where they will face the Minnesota Vikings.
"It's going to be a celebration of life an ongoing life," Beane told reporters looking ahead to Sunday's game. "It will be a challenge for our team to manage the emotions, there's going to be tears out there. PLAYOFF RACEWhile Hamlin and the Bills will be at the emotional centre of the weekend there is plenty of suspense up and down a full slate of games. While a victory would earn the Chiefs a first round bye it might not necessarily bring them home field advantage. Should the 49ers and Eagles both fall the Dallas Cowboys could snatch the NFC crown with a win over the Washington Commanders.

Hackett is the third NFL head coach fired during the 2022 season. Although they had a decent season last year, no one could have predicted the Eagles would become Super Bowl contenders behind an inexperienced quarterback and a second-year head coach. Despite the disappointing end to the season, there were good signs to go off for the 2017 Super Bowl winners. After Thursday's victory over the Texans and setting a franchise-best start to the season, Hurts was in no mood for getting ahead of himself. "I know it's special for the city of Philadelphia," Hurts, who has at least thrown two touchdowns in the last three games, told reporters. After such a start, many are penciling in the Eagles to come out of the NFC conference and challenge in Super Bowl LVII in Arizona.
CNN —Former Green Bay Packers cornerback Sam Shields has said he regrets playing in the NFL, pointing to the effects concussions and head injuries had on his career and his later life. The spotters “serve as another set of eyes, watching for possible injuries at every NFL game,” according to NFL Football Operations. Concussions and their prevention have become an important issue in recent years due to their connection to brain disease later in life. The neurodegenerative brain disease can be found in individuals who have been exposed to repeated head trauma. The researchers hypothesized about a relationship between head trauma and ALS because of a similar link detected between football and the neurodegenerative disease CTE.

Rodgers threw for 203 yards, two touchdowns and an interception, while running back Aaron Jones continued his excellent season as he added 143 yards on the ground. However, after the defeat – in which Green Bay were down 24-7 at halftime – Rodgers was more measured in his response.
