LONDON — European stocks are expected to open in mixed territory on Wednesday as global markets focus on the latest U.S. inflation data set to be released later in the day. The U.K.'s FTSE index is seen opening 4 points higher at 8,208, Germany's DAX up 25 points at 18,304, France's CAC 40 flat at 7,404 and Italy's FTSE MIB up 66 points at 33,259, according to data from IG. Traders have their eyes on two key economic reports out of the U.S. this week, with the consumer price index report for August due Wednesday, followed by the producer price index on Thursday. The data comes before a widely anticipated interest rate cut at the Federal Reserve's Sept. 17-18 meeting that could help assuage concerns over a weakening U.S. economy.

AWS, along with other cloud players, has been investing heavily in infrastructure, such as data centers and Nvidia chips, in order to train and run AI models. The bloc's goals of bolstering its geopolitical relevance, social equality and decarbonization are being threatened by weak economic growth and productivity compared with the U.S. and China, the report states. The EU is meanwhile suffering an "innovation deficit" which must be tackled through reforms to research and development funding and policy, the report states. To fast-track policymaking, the report proposes limiting the voting items that require support from an absolute majority of member states. Funding questionPublic and private investments are being hindered by the size of the EU budget, its lack of focus and its risk aversion, the Draghi report says.

This season, the NFL will play five games abroad in Europe and South America. "The reality is, when we bring our brand of our regular season games here, it creates a whole new environment," Goodell said. Goodell said it has been a learning process playing games abroad, as the league sees how players handle long flights and different time zones. Some games are streaming exclusive, including Friday's matchup in Brazil, which will air on NBC's Peacock platform. Yet, Goodell said 85% of NFL games are still available on broadcast television.
