Investigators from the Department of Justice reviewed numerous email exchanges between Rep. Scott Perry, R-Pa., Trump lawyer John Eastman and two DOJ officials who were pushing the then-president's plan to overturn the 2020 election results, newly unsealed court filings show. Earlier this year, federal investigators seized phones belonging to Perry and Eastman and also searched Clark's home. The Justice Department had asked Howell to unseal a pair of decisions from June and September, but some parts are still redacted. “He wanted Mr. Clark — Mr. Jeff Clark to take over the Department of Justice,” Hutchinson said. It's unclear why the Justice Department asked the judge to unseal the rulings now.
Dave Clark, CEO of FlexportFlexport's incoming CEO Dave Clark. AmazonWhen Dave Clark left his job as the CEO of global consumers at Amazon to run the logistics startup Flexport this summer, he caused quite a stir. Flexport is the senior classman of logistics startups, with $2.3 million capital raised and a valuation of $8 billion. Clark's job is to supercharge its growth. "What draws me to supply-chain issues is the complexity; these are hard problems to solve, with thousands of moving parts that don't always connect or communicate with one another," Clark told Insider.
Wilkes-Barre Township Police Chief Will Clark had low expectations when billed Donald Trump's political action committee. Clark's own department in Pennsylvania still has an unpaid bill for extra security at a "Make America Great Again Rally," back in 2018. Along with the Trump campaign, Clark also tried sending the bill to the Republican National Committee and Lou Barletta, the Trump-endorsed former Pennsylvania congressman who failed to oust Democratic Sen. Bob Casey in that race. To date, there's only one other known instance of late — also unexplained — where the Trump campaign paid some of the money it owed a municipal government. In this case, it was the city of La Crosse, Wisconsin, for a 2020 campaign event that then-Vice President Mike Pence headlined.

The litigation from Clark is his latest maneuver to beat back ethics charges stemming from his efforts while at the Justice Department to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election. Clark pressured Rosen and Donoghue to send Georgia a letter claiming falsely that the Justice Department had uncovered voting irregularities there. When they refused, he sought to get Trump to oust Rosen so he could be installed as Acting Attorney General. Both Rosen and Donoghue are expected to be called as witnesses at Clark's public disciplinary hearing in January. In a statement, one of Clark's attorneys said the ethics case against Clark represents a "flagrant misuse" of the disciplinary function and sets a "dangerous precedent."
As recessionary fears mount and economic growth concerns persist, Atlantic Equities says investors should put their money in resilient consumer names such as Kimberly-Clark . Analyst Edward Lewis upgraded shares of the Huggies and Kleenex maker to overweight, citing an attractive entry point for the stock following the recent market pullback. "At the same time, cost pressures are likely to ease supporting margin expansion and EPS recovery. Lewis also thinks cost pressures from Kimberly-Clark's exposure to pulp, resin and energy, which have hit gross margins, should ease into 2023. Lewis maintained the firm's $135 price target on Kimberly-Clark, suggesting a 21% upside for shares from Tuesday's close despite falling 22% this year.

Amazon is known for "Day 1" culture, maintaining a nimble mindset found on a startup's first day. This is a big challenge facing Amazon CEO Andy Jassy, who replaced founder Jeff Bezos last year. On May 26, Amazon retail CEO Dave Clark held a fireside chat with employees at an internal event called Fishbowl. But 28 years on, Day 2 has finally arrived, according to more than a dozen current and former Amazon employees who cited problems including a stodgy engineering culture, extra management layers, and rising red tape. "Historically Amazon was one of the best places for builders, but now when people want to build, they leave Amazon," this person said.
Corporate landlords in cities like Milwaukee helped drive an evictions crisis during the pandemic. Corporate landlords, which own almost 50% of rental properties, are more likely to evict, advocates say. Before the 2008 recession, corporate landlords owned 20% of rental properties; today, it's nearing a whopping 50%. Since the Center for Disease Control's evictions moratorium took effect last September, evictions by corporate landlords have actually been steadily increasing. There is no national database of evictions, and evictions are only tracked at the level of the country's more than 3,000 counties.
