"The depths of loneliness I experienced as a CEO are difficult to put into words," he posted on X in January. The combination of immense pressure, stress, loneliness, and lack of work-life balance that often comes with being a CEO may well explain why few people last long in the role.

We are out of balance because we don't see beyond the binaries, we don't see how no matter the gender, feminine and masculine exist within each of us. He taught me masculine thingsOn a camping trip when I was 4 years old, Dad sat with his friend while I played with his friend's 3-year-old son. "Stand up for yourself," Dad urged with his eyes, and when I didn't, the boy hit me again and again. When I looked at Dad the third time, he said, "Hit him on the damn nose!" Dad was deliberate in fostering the masculine in his daughters, and he wasn't the only source of that messaging.

In January 2022, I was planning a summer trip to Ukraine and Russia for my 4-year-old son and me. I spent half of my childhood in Ukraine and half in Russia before moving to the United States when I was a teenager. When I became a parent, my one, obsessive goal — as a mother raising a child in America with a man who spoke only English — was to teach my son Russian. He started inserting English words in otherwise Russian sentences and talking to himself in English while playing alone. A visit to Ukraine and Russia would allow him to see that his mother’s native language wasn’t a quirk of hers but something normal for millions of people.

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg will very likely end up the ultimate winner in the most recent push to force a sale or ban of Chinese-owned TikTok.
