Shares of McDonald's fell 4% in morning trading Monday, several hours after it reported that a sales slowdown in the Middle East contributed to its fourth-quarter revenue miss. Starbucks CEO Laxman Narasimhan said Tuesday that the company's sales in the Middle East struggled, but boycotts also hurt its U.S. cafes. Unlike Starbucks, McDonald's did not note any effect on its U.S. sales. Yum Brands is scheduled to report its quarterly results on Wednesday, while Restaurant Brands is slated to share its earnings on Feb. 13.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — SoFi Stadium will begin work Monday on renovations to increase the size of its playing field area in preparation for hosting eight matches during the 2026 World Cup. “It's really just changing pre-cast concrete in the corners of the stadium to a more retractable system,” Demoff said Sunday. It's time for investors to shake off the fear of bank stocks created by last year's deposit outflows and regional bank failures, according to Oppenheimer. Analyst Chris Kotowski said in a report to clients on Tuesday that bank stocks are "significantly undervalued," highlighting that the KBW Bank Index finished 2023 down 4.8% for the year, or 29 percentage points behind the S & P 500. That gap is too large to justify even with the collapse of a few regional banks such as Silicon Valley Bank, Kotowski said. The firm's top two bank stocks are Goldman Sachs and Jefferies , both of which can serve as a bet on a rebound in the capital markets business.
