Mr. Kalnoky, who is tall, urbane and fluent in five languages, was raised in exile in Paris, where his family resided after Communists took over Romania. As a count from Transylvania, he would like to cordially invite everyone to spare him the Dracula jokes. The story of how King Charles came to own a guesthouse in Romania starts with one of Mr. Kalnoky’s ancestors. That factory has long since vanished from what is today the right-next-door village of Zalánpatak, population 94. “As he was describing his dream house, I realized that I might know that very house,” he recalled.

Here is a guide to some of the most consequential music copyright cases in recent decades, along with excerpts from their recordings. In cases like these, the only material in question are the songs’ underlying compositions: the melodies, chords and lyrics that can be notated on paper. Juries must decide not only if one song copies another, but whether the earlier song was original and distinctive enough to be protected by copyright. “The problem with cases like this is that people ask the wrong question,” said Joe Bennett, a professor at the Berklee College of Music who works as a forensic musicologist in legal cases. “They ask the question, ‘How similar is song B to song A,’ whereas what they should be asking is how original is song A.”Got that?
The company was hired by the BBC to handle ticketing for a concert on May 7 to celebrate the ascension of King Charles to the British throne. Some fans who received an email from the ticketing site saying they’d won tickets for The Coronation Concert say they were later told that all tickets were gone. A total of 10,000 free tickets for next week’s concert were allocated to fans in three ballots. But some fans have said Ticketmaster’s instructions on how to secure the tickets allocated in the third ballot were confusing and contradictory. “Like so many others, [I] got the @Ticketmaster email to say I’d got tickets for the Coronation concert but they’re all gone.
CNN —Suspected North Korean hackers infiltrated a software firm that claims hundreds of thousands of customers around the world in a cyberattack that shows Pyongyang’s advanced hacking capabilities, private investigators said Thursday. But it’s the latest evidence that North Korean hackers are pulling out all the stops to break into organizations to steal or spy on them in support of dictator Kim Jong Un’s strategic interests. A recent CNN investigation found a rampant effort by North Korean hackers to steal cryptocurrency and launder it into hard cash that might help fund the regime’s weapon’s programs. London CNN —The Bank of England has called for urgent action to address a weak spot in the UK financial system as persistent worries about the global banking sector threaten to unleash fresh market turmoil. LDI crisisThe role of LDI funds in the UK financial system was thrown into the spotlight in the fall after the Truss budget triggered an unprecedented selloff in UK government bonds. The central bank added that UK banks were “resilient” and “currently healthy.” But it warned that other parts of the financial system might need bolstering.

Marching through Paris, dodging police, he joins other young people in spontaneous protests, chanting: "We are here, we are here, even if Macron does not want it, we are here." Tags sprayed on the walls of Paris in recent days have targeted Macron, or simply read: Democracy. While some protesters have torched bins, thrown rocks at police or smashed shop windows and bus stops, Chauliac insists he hasn't.

The book also delivered numerous other revelations, including that elder brother and heir to the throne William had knocked him over during a heated argument. Later on Thursday, William and his wife Kate, who he also criticises in his book, will make their first appearances since the memoir's release. So far, neither Buckingham Palace nor any of the royals have commented on Harry's disclosures.

Cancer is listed as a disability under the UK Equality Act 2010, protecting sufferers from discrimination. Lawyers for NatWest and the 44-year-old risk and compliance officer clashed on Monday at the Central London Employment Tribunal over document disclosures relating to her income since she left the bank. The case is unusual because most employment claims are settled out of court. Charles Crow, a lawyer for NatWest, conceded Willis's team could have been told earlier how many experts the bank was now calling. "We recognise the extremely difficult personal circumstances in this case and that there were things the bank did not get right," a NatWest spokesperson said.
LONDON, Nov 28 (Reuters) - A former senior banker is suing NatWest (NWG.L) for around 4.3 million pounds ($5.2 million) after a London judge ruled that she was unfairly dismissed only days after cancer surgery. Cancer is listed as a disability under the UK Equality Act 2010, protecting sufferers from discrimination. There's not a cat in hell's chance of dealing with this case in two days," Gilroy said. Charles Crow, a lawyer for NatWest, conceded Willis's team could have been told earlier how many experts the bank was now calling. But both sides should have realised that a two-day hearing would not be enough to deal with disagreements, he said.
