A Bilt spokesperson told Business Insider that Wells Fargo does not make the numbers publicly available. In an email, a Wells Fargo spokesperson told Business Insider that co-branded credit cards are "one modest piece of the company's overall credit card business strategy, and the BILT credit card is one component of that." The Wells Fargo spokesperson said that "there has been no conversation among decision-makers to exit the BILT agreement. A Bilt spokesperson said the Journal's story is an "inaccurate representation of our strategic partnership with Wells Fargo."

Delta Air Lines said Monday that it will bring its premium economy service to transcontinental flights in September, its latest attempt to boost sales of higher-priced tickets to customers willing to splurge for more space and perks. Premium economy is a relatively new class of service that major airlines offer on longer, mostly international flights. Delta customers who purchase standard economy tickets will be able to pay for upgrades to premium economy on the transcontinental flights. The seats were sold as extra legroom tickets, which are a rung below premium economy. Some American Airlines ' shorter domestic flights operate a similar model, featuring lie-flat seats but not the Flagship service offered on international flights.

The two aviation powerhouses recently joined forces to reimagine the future of airplane TV and movie-viewing, via a swanky concept called MAYA. MAYA, which stands for “Most Advanced Yet Achievable,” is an ergonomic business class seat that comes equipped with an Astrova Curve 45-inch ultra-wide, ultra-high-definition OLED display. Collins Aerospace/Panasonic AvionicsThe screen syncs up with passengers’ personal devices, offering an impressive headphone-less audio system. Collins Aerospace/Panasonic AvionicsNot only is MAYA’s curved screen three times larger than classic business class seat options, Panasonic also envisages the seat offering an Ultra-Widescreen CinemaScope (21:9) display – a screen format more commonly found in cinemas. With that in mind, Masson calls the screen the “cinematic centerpiece” of MAYA’s design, but stresses the screen’s not only designed for movies.

Now, ticket prices have increased, and the Parfitt family is looking at flights that cost $5,000 more than initially planned. In October, the family spent $12,093 on four business-class tickets for a January flight on Turkish Airlines. With no available Turkish Airlines flights, airline staff rebooked the Parfitt family on an Emirates flight to Denpasar with a layover in Dubai the next day. Related storiesAfter 13 calls to Turkish Airlines, Parfitt said an agent finally discovered the issue: The family had been incorrectly marked as no-shows on the second leg of their original Turkish Airlines flight. Turkish Airlines' no-show policy states that a business-semi-flexible ticket isn't automatically canceled; it "may be reused for a specified fee, no refunds."

While I dread these altercations, I think some passengers need to chill out — people have the right to recline their seat. So, you’d think that 150 lighter seats per flight will certainly save an airline a ton of money. A lighter seat that doesn’t recline is also a seat that is less likely to break, which saves an airline money in repairs. But after 28 years in the job, I’ve found there’s some basic reclining etiquette that makes for a smoother flight for everyone. But on coach, middle seat passengers struggle to type because there’s no arm space.

Southwest Airlines is weighing changes to its cabin that could involve abandoning its single-class, open-seating system to drive up revenue, CEO Bob Jordan told CNBC on Thursday. The changes would mark a massive shift for the carrier that has stood apart from rivals for decades with its simpler business model. Southwest's all-Boeing 737 fleet has a single economy class cabin and no seating assignments, though it does offer earlier boarding to customers for a fee so they can snag their preferred seats. The airline has focused on keeping its product simple and user-friendly for years, aiming to keep its own costs and complexity to a minimum. Meanwhile, rivals including Delta and United have touted high revenue growth for premium seating such as business class and strong upsell rates.

Both my husband and I have the Hilton Honors American Express Aspire Card from American Express, and we had each gotten a free night certificate with that card. I transferred some American Express Membership Rewards points to British Airways to complete the transaction. Global airlines are governed by nine "freedoms of the air," drafted 80 years ago in 1944. The fifth freedom can give airlines a competitive edge and help capitalize on demand.
