If you're not sure how much to care about work, or what it means to you, you're not alone. Work blurred into life, and life blurred into work, suddenly making my personal errands the same as work. The U.S. suffered their earliest elimination at the World Cup by far, having never failed to reach the semi-finals in all eight previous tournaments. We run it," twice World Cup winner Brandi Chastain said in a pre-World Cup promotion for the NWSL. Injuries undoubtedly made their World Cup mission tougher, with captain Becky Sauerbrunn and forward Mallory Swanson ruled out of the squad. Yet, the U.S. never looked like World Cup winners when the tournament kicked off. The World Cup exit leaves U.S. women's soccer at a cross-roads, and pondering a way out of the mire.

"DEI leaders are facing extreme fatigue and burnout," says Chandra Robinson, vice president in the Gartner HR practice. "Unfortunately," she says, "with so much attention paid to DEI, undue pressures are put on DEI leaders to make progress" quickly. Half of DEI leaders say their biggest challenge is when other leaders fail to take ownership for driving diversity outcomes, and one-third say they have limited power to effectively drive change, according to a 2022 Gartner survey of 181 DEI leaders. Black women are more likely than women overall to aspire to executive roles, according to the joint Lean In and McKinsey "Women in the Workplace" report. Greta Gerwig’s ‘Barbie’ Dream Job

Someone more cynical than Gerwig might have been less moved by Mattel’s corporate epiphany, 60 years into existence, that Barbie could sustain being a size 6, but cynicism is clearly not Gerwig’s way. The movie sidesteps whatever role Barbie might play in perpetuating a narrow, idealized femininity; instead it gives this particular Barbie a crash course in modern misogyny. After decades of fretting about girls’ wanting to be as perfect as Barbie, Gerwig serves up a Barbie struggling to be as resilient as us. This woman is played by the 91-year-old, Oscar-winning costume designer Ann Roth, a friend of Gerwig’s. If I don’t have that scene, I don’t know what it is or what I’ve done.”

Pricey property is a pointy dilemma for Singapore

It’s a pointy problem however for a country that traditionally has managed housing for the masses well. In June, Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong’s government said it would redevelop the city’s only horse racecourse for housing, including public homes. It notes some 40,000 public and private housing units are due to be completed this year, the highest level in five years. Singapore also hiked taxes on private second-home purchases. The government insists they have hardly had any impact on housing demand.

Twenty percent of 18-to-24-year-olds use TikTok to learn about current events, up 5 percentage points from last year, the report said. JAHORINA MOUNTAIN, Bosnia June 8 (Reuters) - Security and migration officials from six Western Balkans countries, all of which aspire to join the European Union, on Thursday pledged to work together with the EU and United Nations agencies to improve sustainable migration governance. "When it comes to the migrant crisis, we from the Western Balkans face not only humanitarian challenges but also security and political challenges," said Bosnia's Security Minister Nenad Nesic, who hosted the meeting at a mountain resort near the capital Sarajevo. "Trends in migration are very dynamic and the Western Balkans is a major transitory route," Ugochi Florence Daniels, the IOM Deputy Director General for Operations, told Reuters. "The action plan is an opportunity to deal with the immediate issues - trafficking and smuggling and sustainable returns," Daniels said. "It is also an opportunity to look at the longer-term opportunities that migration is bringing - remittances to the Western Balkans are $10 billion or 10% of GDP - that is a significant contribution to development," she added.
