The company now predicts full-year net income of $9.1 billion to $9.7 billion, down from its previous outlook of $9.3 billion to $10.7 billion. But GM expects to generate more cash for the full year. He said he gets more protections and benefits as a nurse in California, as well as a higher salary. While housing prices are higher in California, he said many of his costs are cheaper than in Tennessee. California requires one nurse for every two intensive or critical care patients for instance, while Tennessee does not have state laws for these ratios. Electric vehicle sales are expected to hit a record 9% of all passenger vehicles in the U.S. this year, according to Atlas Public Policy. That will be up from 7.3% of new car sales in 2022. These figures include both battery electric vehicles and plug-in hybrid EVs. But even as U.S. EV market share grows steadily, hurdles still stand in the way for some car buyers considering electric. Several U.S. states have set target dates by which they expect vehicle sales to be majority zero-emissions.

Musk initially sued Grimes in Texas in September to "establish the parent-child relationship" with the three kids the pair share. The outcome of that fight could have major consequences for Musk, thanks to the different child support caps in California and Texas.
