Is Måneskin the Last Rock Band?

The other way Måneskin is isolated from the PNRC is geographic. Over the course of lunch, it became clear that they had encyclopedic knowledge of certain eras in American rock history but were only dimly aware of others. But none of them had ever heard of Fugazi, the post-hardcore band whose hatred of major labels, refusal to sell merchandise and commitment to keeping ticket prices as low as possible set the standard for a generation of American rock snobs. It picks up again with Franz Ferdinand and the “emo” era of mainstream pop rock. While snobs like Larson and me are overrepresented in journalism, we never constituted a majority of rock fans.

The Bidi Bidi Music & Arts Centre, which is currently under construction, will be a low-slung, light-filled brick and steel amphitheater that also houses an acoustic recording studio and music classroom. As the global refugee population has soared in recent years, reaching over 35 million in 2022, some temporary camps like Bidi Bidi have transitioned into permanent city-like settlements. The Bidi Bidi settlement quickly reached maximum capacity in 2016 and has since transitioned into a permanent settlement. But beyond practical use and sustainability, De Kestelier wants Bidi Bidi residents to have a new building that feels like their own. “When people give it a name, they own it more.”Erezenio is hopeful that Bidi Bidi, and other settlements like it, will see more projects that provide refugees with “tools for success” in addition to more immediate needs.

SANTA ANA, Calif. (AP) — A judge on Wednesday halted a Southern California school district from requiring parents to be notified if their children change their gender identification or pronouns at school. Bonta argues the policy will forcibly out transgender students in violation of their privacy rights and threaten their well-being. Chino Valley contends the policy seeks to involve parents so they can provide support their children need. He also questioned whether elementary school students as young as 4 and 5 years old should be treated the same as high school teens involved in confidential counseling. He then worked with school board members and the California Family Council to draft the policy that was voted on in Chino Valley.

The companies now have six months to start complying with the Digital Markets Act's requirements, which are spurring changes in how Big Tech companies operate. “So that’s the endgame.”For example, under the DMA tech companies can't stop consumers from connecting with businesses outside their platforms. That means Telegram or Signal users could exchange texts or video files with WhatsApp users. That means Meta can't mix together a user's data from Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp services without clear consent. Global oil prices backed off the $90 a barrel mark early Wednesday as traders digested the news that Saudi Arabia and Russia would extend their summer production cuts until December. The move is likely to keep U.S. gas prices higher for longer. Many nations joined in putting sanctions on Russian oil when President Vladimir Putin invaded Ukraine in February 2022. But large oil consumers such as China and India continue to buy Russian oil. Rising oil prices will also be a concern for the Federal Reserve as its campaign to tame inflation is finally bearing fruit.

It has been six years since Woody Allen had a film released in the United States, but the Venice Film Festival was still eager to roll out the red carpet for the 87-year-old director’s latest effort. However, not everyone there welcomed the filmmaker with open arms. On Monday, his new film, “Coup de Chance,” debuted in Venice and earned the several-minute standing ovation that’s customary at most festival premieres. “Coup de Chance” is Allen’s 50th film and his first French-language effort. Starring Lou de Laâge and Melvil Poupaud, it’s a Paris-set dramatic thriller about a married woman who reconnects with an old flame, which drives her possessive husband to thoughts of murder.

They were the latest members of the former president’s inner circle to find out that associating with Trump could put them on cracking legal ice. There is increasing speculation over why Meadows was charged in Georgia but not in special counsel Jack Smith’s federal investigation into Trump’s election stealing efforts. Taveras also met with investigators following the initial indictment in the classified documents case overseen by special counsel Jack Smith, sources said. Still, at that time, nothing could have impelled me to risk a swim in that other iconic Parisian sight — the Seine River — not without a full biohazard suit.
