By the time intelligence collected on overseas ISIS targets connected the men to the terror group, they had already been vetted by immigration authorities and allowed into the country, officials said. The men remain in federal custody on immigration charges and will eventually be deported following the counterterror investigation into them. US officials and analysts who closely track Islamist terror groups do know that ISIS-K has dramatically ramped up its online propaganda machine. But that’s not necessarily a reliable gauge of the number of actual terrorists who may be trying to enter the United States, US officials argue. Or they could belong to a legacy terror group — like the FARC — that isn’t known for conducting attacks on US soil.

Gallup, in its “State of the Global Workplace,” estimates that low employee engagement costs the global economy $8.9 trillion, or 9% of global GDP. That poll found that roughly 20% of workers globally reported feeling lonely, angry or sad on a daily basis. “[W]hen managers are engaged, employees are more likely to be engaged,” the report said. But the US and Canada also ranked second among employees experiencing daily stress (49%), right behind the Middle East and North Africa (52%). And countries in post-Soviet Eurasia ranked lowest in terms of daily stress (19%).

The Paris-based IEA said Wednesday that it expects growth in global oil production — led by the United States and other countries in the Americas — to “inflate the world’s spare (oil) capacity cushion” to levels seen only once before, during the coronavirus pandemic when oil prices crashed. By 2030, global oil supply will outstrip demand by a “staggering” 8 million barrels per day, according to forecasts published by the agency in its medium-term oil market report. “(That’s) a major, major surplus and… might be one of the highest in the history,” Fatih Birol, the IEA’s executive director, told reporters. The IEA also forecast growth in global oil demand to “slow progressively” over the rest of the decade, with demand peaking by 2029 before contracting slightly the year after. Despite the cuts, oil prices have trended downward in recent months.

Kodiak protein-packed oatmealIt was nice that the Kodiak oatmeal had protein but we didn't love the flavor. Ted BergKodiak is a bit of an outlier among the oatmeals I tested in that it includes added pea protein, whey protein, and milk protein. Each serving of oatmeal has 12 grams of protein, about three times more than the other varieties I tried. It also featured the largest and least ground-up oats and required the shortest cooking time — as little as 30 seconds in the microwave. This was undoubtedly our least favorite of the oatmeals we tried, but I could see it being a decent option for someone who wants extra protein in the morning.
