Kirsten and Devin Trout wanted to live in Nashville but couldn't afford to rent or buy a home. We both grew up in normal households and never pictured ourselves getting into RV living. The Trout family dogs in their RV living room. I have had to learn a lot of things related to the RV lifestyle the hard way. While we do get negative comments, there are still a lot of people that tell us we've helped them get into the RV lifestyle and achieve financial freedom — it's why I continue posting to my pages.

When pet parents need a little extra guidance, the best online veterinarians provide on-demand consultations with licensed veterinarians via phone, video, or chatWhile you should always contact your primary veterinarian or an emergency clinic if you have a concern about your pet's physical health or behavior, virtual vets can provide you with quick answers about non-emergency questions, consultations, or refills on medications. One of the biggest benefits of online pet care is its immediate availability. But they can be a good resource when you have questions about parasite prevention, grooming, the best dog food or the best cat food, exercise, and behavioral issues. Lippman says that while it shouldn't ever replace your pet's annual in-person check-up, it's a great way to supplement care. Some other benefits the best online veterinarians may offer include health libraries, at-home lab tests, and emergency veterinary funds.

Kyiv, Ukraine CNN —Kateryna Pylypenko prepared two backpacks for her youngest son’s first day of school on Friday. We were told it should contain water, a toy… and something to eat while they wait in the shelter for the air raid alarm to end,” Pylypenko told CNN. Physical education is not the same now, because what kind of physical education is there in an apartment?” he told CNN. Dmytro’s mom, Viktoriia Ukrainska, told CNN she would not send him to school even if the option was available to her. “It sounds strange, but I really miss school,” Dmytro told CNN.

REUTERS/Sebastian Castaneda Acquire Licensing RightsLIMA, Sept 1 (Reuters) - A 4.5-kilometer "wall of shame" separating luxurious estates in Peru's capital Lima from neighboring communities living in poverty is being torn down after some four decades, though divisions remain strong. The group was largely destroyed in the 1990s, but the wall dividing La Molina and the poorer Villa Maria del Triunfo remained and has grown in size. Francisco Dumler, the municipal manager of the La Molina, said residents would comply with the ruling but the demolition could take time due to unforeseen costs. La Molina boasts lush parks and large residences that can cost several millions of dollars.

Why airlines aren't boarding planes the most efficient way
  + stars: | 2023-08-31 | by ( Emily Lorsch | In | Elorsch | ) www.cnbc.com   time to read: +1 min
"Boarding is one of the most difficult parts of air travel and frustrating to a lot of passengers," said Leslie Josephs, CNBC's airline reporter. In the 1970s, Southwest Airlines' average turn time, from the moment a plane arrives at the gate to the time it leaves, was only 10 minutes. Flight delays cost airlines and passengers about $33 billion each year, according to government data. But experts say speeding up the boarding process is not really a priority for airlines — they've monetized everything about it. "The different boarding groups that we see today have emerged because people value their priority in boarding," said Kerry Philipovitch, former senior vice president of customer service at American Airlines.

Disney World's firefighters were once in support of DeSantis' plan to assume control of the Reedy Creek Improvement District. A number of firefighters confronted DeSantis' board last week at a meeting about this. But now firefighters are having second thoughts after the new oversight board moved to strip them of special Disney perks they've had for decades. Last week, the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District, the rebranded Reedy Creek board, revoked all of the firefighters' free passes to the Disney parks and resorts. I'm totally fine with that," DeSantis told CNBC, encouraging Disney to drop the suit.

Ali Bongo: who is Gabon leader ousted in military coup?
  + stars: | 2023-08-30 | by ( ) www.reuters.com   time to read: +5 min
[1/2] A still image from video shows Gabon President Ali Bongo being interviewed in Libreville, Gabon, September 24, 2016. Following a stroke, his fitness to rule was questioned, sparking a failed coup in 2019 as he convalesced in Morocco. Before sitting down for a televised interview with Reuters after his 2016 election win, Bongo removed a large silver watch and several gold rings. When Bongo won a 2016 election, accusations of vote meddling stoked public anger amid a period of low crude prices and belt-tightening. In 2019, a military coup was foiled, with the coup plotters citing a lack of information following Bongo's stroke in 2018.

CNN —Afghanistan’s Band-e-Amir National Park was known for having employed the country’s first-ever female park rangers. Now, women won’t even be allowed to visit, let alone work there, as the Taliban deepens its repressive rule over the country. Heather Barr, associate director of the women’s rights at Human Rights Watch, said in a statement Monday that the ban shows how “the walls are closing in on women” within Afghanistan. Since re-taking control of the country in August 2021, amid the United States’ chaotic, controversial withdrawal, the Taliban has rolled back decades of progress on human rights. In Afghanistan, “there is no such thing as women’s freedom anymore,” Mahbouba Seraj, an Afghan women’s rights activist and 2023 Nobel Peace Prize nominee, said earlier this month.

Gahanna, Ohio, is the most in-demand area in the country, according to an analysis of over 29,000 ZIP codes by Realtor.com . The most desirable ZIP code for U.S. homebuyers isn't in a big city on the coast — it's a cozy suburb in Ohio. The median price of a home is $389,000, less than the U.S. median of $445,000, per Realtor.com data. As for the other top ZIP codes, buyer demand is concentrated in the affordable Midwest or Northeast neighborhoods near large cities. Many potential buyers for the top 15 ZIP codes are from large cities nearby, which suggests they're looking for cheaper homes locally, the study says.

Americans are even less likely to mix with people from different socio-economic classes than pre-pandemic. New research shows that affordable, chain restaurants are the exception. "The most socio-economically diverse places in America are not public institutions, like schools and parks, but affordable, chain restaurants," Massenhoff and Wilmers write. But there are some places where Americans of different incomes congregate: The aforementioned chain restaurants. At somewhere like Panera, poorer Americans are more likely to meet non-poor Americans, but not the other way around.

One Morning in Maine, 225 People Went to the Library
  + stars: | 2023-08-25 | by ( Elisabeth Egan | ) www.nytimes.com   time to read: +2 min
It was a beach day, by Maine standards — slightly overcast and moderately balmy, with a hint of balsam in the air. But on a peak-summer morning in July, 225 people steered clear of state parks and went to Curtis Memorial Library in Brunswick instead. They were young and old, in strollers and on walkers and strutting the latest technical sandals. They wore pigtails, baby slings, ironic T-shirts, a head scarf, a lobster hat, a crown, a tiara and halos of white hair. As “Sal” McCloskey, now 78, settled into an armchair at the front of Morrell Reading Room, a hush fell over the undulating sea of children at her feet.
