CNN —Sydney has been officially elevated to the ranks of the Abbott World Marathon Majors, becoming the seventh city to join the prestigious series. Starting in 2025, the Sydney Marathon will become the first major marathon in the Southern Hemisphere as it joins elite races in Boston, New York, Chicago, London, Berlin and Tokyo. Abbott World Marathon Majors CEO Dawna Stone said she was “thrilled” that Sydney will become the seventh major, while complimenting the hard work of the race’s organizers. In September, a record 20,272 runners finished the race, helping it clear its second consecutive assessment to become an Abbott World Marathon Major. The 2025 Sydney Marathon is scheduled for August 31, with more than 33,000 runners expected to participate, according to the New South Wales government.

Taco Bell is reviving five menu items from past decades for a limited time. We tried the new Decades menu and the Meximelt was our clear favorite. When the first Taco Bell restaurant opened in Downey, California, in 1962, it offered just five menu items: frijoles, tostadas, burritos, tacos, and a chili burger. Now, Taco Bell is hoping to evoke a sense of nostalgia in customers with its new "Decades" menu that features five of its previously discontinued items. We tried four items on Taco Bell's new Decades menu (the Caramel Apple Empanada will be released on November 21) and ranked them from our least favorite to our favorite.

The CMSI study makes clear that a US invasion of Taiwan in 1945 — or a Chinese invasion today — would be difficult and risky. The objective would be to occupy southern Taiwan and the mainland Chinese port of Xiamen across the Taiwan Strait. As polls show a dead heat between former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris in the final days of the race, news outlets are preparing an anxious nation for the likelihood that election night will stretch into an election week. Most major media outlets around the country rely on a handful of organizations to crunch the numbers and make race calls. “We’re also going to be really transparent about why we may not be able to call a race,” Pace said. In 2020, Joe Biden was not declared the winner of the presidential election until Saturday, several days after election night. While Biden went on to carry the state by roughly 10,000 votes, the network came under assault from Trump and his allies, who blasted the right-wing network’s election night projection.

One bit of clarity they’re sure to get: The Federal Reserve’s latest interest rate decision, due to be announced Thursday. The Fed lowered borrowing costs in September for the first time in more than four years while signaling additional rate cuts. But a slew of economic figures have been released since the decision, which is important because the Fed’s decision are guided by what those figures show. Investors are betting with near certainty that the Fed will deliver a quarter-point cut, according to futures. Lower rates could entice home buyers to come off the sidelines, and for businesses it could continue plans that have “baked in” lower rates.

How to talk like a banker
  + stars: | 2024-11-03 | by ( Emmalyse Brownstein | ) www.businessinsider.com   time to read: +9 min
A manager might leave a comment on a page telling the junior banker to "kill this," which just means delete it. A manager might also instruct the junior banker to "take another stab" at it, which means doing the presentation over again and sending it back by email. In stock market talk, "trading with the Street" usually means someone is trading along the lines of majority opinion. It's so much a part of the culture that the term is also used by higher-ups to describe their junior bankers professionally. Each time a banker makes changes to client materials pre-meeting — like a deck — it's standard practice for every round of edits or changes to be saved as a new file.
