Elon Musk has over the last year threatened legal action against tech competitors, employees and people who use Twitter, which he owns. Now he is also taking aim at an organization that studies hate speech and misinformation on social media. The letter cited research published by the Center for Countering Digital Hate in June examining hate speech on Twitter, which Mr. Musk has renamed X.com. The research consisted of eight papers, including one that found that Twitter had taken no action against 99 percent of the 100 Twitter Blue accounts the center reported for “tweeting hate.” The letter called the research “false, misleading or both” and said the organization had used improper methodology. The letter added that the center was funded by Twitter’s competitors or foreign governments “in support of an ulterior agenda.”

Elon Musk rebranded Twitter as X over the weekend — a name that has long been one of his favorites. But focus groups thought the name sounded "seedy," according to Musk biographer Walter Isaacson. Musk wanted the company to be rebranded either as X.com or X-PayPal, but his fellow executives disagreed. Several of Musk's brands among his slate of companies include the letter X, including SpaceX and the more recent company xAI. Over the weekend, he changed the company's logo from the iconic blue bird to a white letter X against a black backdrop.

Elon Musk said he's planning to change Twitter's logo and get rid of its bird character. Musk pinned a tweet with a graphic of a new "X" logo, meaning he may already have a replacement. Elon Musk indicated he's planning to scrap Twitter's logo – and has even started asking users for ideas for his new X app. "And soon we shall bid adieu to the twitter brand and, gradually, all the birds," Musk also tweeted. After Musk asked for suggestions, he continued to post prospective logos on his page, including retweeting the X.com logo Musk used for his online banking venture that was founded in 1999.

June 28 (Reuters) - Bankrupt FTX is moving ahead with efforts to revive its flagship international cryptocurrency exchange, the Wall Street Journal reported on Wednesday citing CEO John Ray. The company "has begun the process of soliciting interested parties to the reboot of the FTX.com exchange," Ray said, according to the Journal's report. The failed crypto company has been holding talks with investors about backing a potential restart of the FTX.com exchange through structures such as a joint venture, the report added citing people familiar with the discussions. In the days leading up to the failure, customers of Sam Bankman-Fried's crypto exchange withdrew billions of dollars, hobbling the firm's liquidity. A rescue deal with rival exchange Binance also fell through, precipitating crypto's highest-profile collapse in recent years.
