They now make up to $3,000 per month from dumpster diving, and post their dives on TikTok. AdvertisementAdvertisementWe make between $2,000 and $3,000 a month selling our dumpster dive trash treasures. But it's still rare that we see somebody else dumpster diving at the spots we go to in Buffalo. When some people hear the term "dumpster diving," they sometimes picture a rat-infested dumpster covered in food, or that we're digging through household trash. We view our dumpster diving efforts, particularly selling scrap metal to scrap yards, as "carbon credits" that offset the carbon emissions from our next plane flights.

REUTERS/Brendan McDermid/File Photo Acquire Licensing RightsAug 31 (Reuters) - SentinelOne Inc (S.N) raised its annual revenue forecast on Thursday, riding on resilient adoption of its AI-backed security offerings as macroeconomic fears abate. The cybersecurity company also clarified that it had just canceled a "reselling agreement" with Wiz and their partnership with the startup was still on. Startup Wiz said last week that it was considering a potential bid for SentinelOne, which has struggled to become profitable, after reports that it was considering putting itself up for sale. The Mountain View, California-based company expects revenue for the full-year to be $605 million, up from the $590 million to $600 million range it had forecast in June. The cybersecurity company also forecast revenue of $156 million for the third quarter, higher than analysts' estimate of $154.20 million.

After Hurricane Michael struck Florida in 2018, home sales rose significantly, allowing disaster investors to reap the rewards. This venture has the potential to be even more rewarding given the increasing frequency of natural disasters in the US. But federal disaster relief is painfully slow to respond and often doesn't cover most of the costs. And while moratoriums on damaged land sales aren't a long-term, legally tenable solution, there are ways state officials might be able to deter disaster investors. As the threat of natural disasters increases, so will disaster profiteers.

CNN —Parents may want to check their children’s rooms for a recalled bed with hazards that could potentially kill, according to a product safety commission. The entrapment risk comes from the spacing of the beds’ spindles, according to a Thursday news release from the CPSC. The bed’s design “allows a child’s torso to slip through the rail opening but will not allow their head to pass, posing entrapment and strangulation hazards that could result in death,” the release said. At least two children have been entrapped in the bed rails, including a 21-month-old boy and a 4-year-old girl. The CPSC advised disposing the recalled beds rather than reselling or donating them, as it is a federal violation to do so.

In 2023, Roblero found more clients and started making money from car detailing videos posted on his YouTube channel. But he kept thinking about starting a car detailing business, inspired by the effort he put into maintaining his own vehicle. But by then, he was earning enough to leave his 9-to-5 and focus on the car detailing business full-time. In January 2023, he started a YouTube channel, where he shares weekly behind-the-scenes videos of his car detailing process. But in September 2020, just three months after he started the company, Roblero's father collapsed from cardiac arrest.

Aug 1 (Reuters) - An obscure cloud service company has been providing state-sponsored hackers with internet services to spy on and extort their victims, a cybersecurity firm said in a report to be published on Tuesday. Researchers at Texas-based Halcyon said a company called Cloudzy had been leasing server space and reselling it to no fewer than 17 different state-sponsored hacking groups from China, Russia, Iran, North Korea, India, Pakistan and Vietnam. Halcyon estimated that roughly half of Cloudzy’s business was malicious, including renting services to two ransomware groups. The cybersecurity firm CrowdStrike, which wasn’t involved in the research, said that it hadn’t seen state-sponsored hackers using Cloudzy. He said the company needed U.S. domicile to be able to register internet protocol addresses in America.

In January 2022, I pivoted from print-on-demand products to digital productsI was faced with pandemic supply-chain issues, and I also saw a lot of successful sellers on Etsy who were selling just digital designs. In January, I started my own online courses for people who want to sell digital products without a design background. Since the debut of the Grimace shake earlier this month, TikTok users have been excitedly ordering the shake, released in honor of McDonald’s character Grimace’s “birthday,” and then pretending to die on camera after consuming the purple beverage. They often dump the shake over their convulsing bodies, apparently signaling that Grimace, that bumbling bestie of Ronald McDonald, killed them. The Grimace shake, though, has become more infamous than beloved. In a typical “Grimace Shake” TikTok, an enthusiastic young person, Grimace shake in hand, will wish the big purple mascot a happy birthday before taking their first sip. When reached for comment, McDonald’s referred CNN to a tweet from Grimace: “meee pretending i don’t see the grimace shake trendd,” along with a photo of the purple one himself, eyebrows raised.

Amazon is in talks with several wireless carriers about launching a mobile service for Prime members, according to a report from Bloomberg. The e-retailer is negotiating with Verizon, T-Mobile and Dish about the possibility of reselling their mobile services to its Prime members at low cost or potentially free, Bloomberg reported. Launched in 2005, Amazon Prime members pay $139 a year for access to free two-day shipping, access to exclusive movies and TV shows, as well as newer benefits like generic prescription discounts and Grubhub delivery perks. By partnering up with a company like Verizon or Dish, Amazon would essentially function as a mobile virtual network operator. Instead of owning its own wireless network, the company would purchase data from a large carrier and resell it to consumers.

watch nowFor several years, the terms shrink, retail crime and organized retail theft have echoed from the mouths of politicians, police officers, trade groups and the country's most prominent retail executives. And how does it differ from retail crime and organized retail theft? The companies polled for the survey estimated that retail theft accounted for 37% of those losses, employee or internal theft 28.5% and process and control failures 25.7%. The NRF defines organized retail theft as the "large-scale theft of retail merchandise with the intent to resell the items for financial gain." The line between organized retail theft and shoplifting can be murky, but they are distinctly different.
