Such was the first day of DeSantis' "reboot" of his campaign in New Hampshire, the No. Before DeSantis began his speech, Michael Lunder, a 67-year-old businessman, said he was "probably going to support (DeSantis) financially." "I learned a few things that I didn't agree with, but, in general, I think I might support him," Lunder concluded. CAMPAIGN REBOOTIn the last two weeks, the DeSantis campaign has undergone a shake-up both in style and personnel, according to several people close to the campaign. He disagreed with DeSantis' position that support for Ukraine in its war with Russia is not a vital U.S. national security interest.

To scale up, he's used the BRRRR method and 1031 exchanges. One example of how Nunez has used the BRRRR method involves a property in Long Beach, California that he bought in 2015. For the 1031 exchange approach, Nunez did the same thing: he fixed up properties, forcing appreciation in them. To allow him keep all of the value he'd built up and not get taxed on it, Nunez used a 1031 exchange and bought other properties. When he believes he's maxed out a properties appreciation, he uses a 1031 exchange as opposed to a cash-out refinance.

I focused on a client nicheI started working as a virtual assistant in January 2021. I connected with clients organically on InstagramI put all my time and effort into making my Instagram profile engaging. I'd find clients I wanted to work with and comment on their posts and respond to their Instagram stories. I'd have about five or six clients on the go at a time, and I'd work for each one every day. With each client, I'd explain on the call that I had a minimum length of four months for each contract.

Court filings show how Jeffrey Epstein exerted power in the US Virgin Islands, two of which he owned. A financier worth hundreds of millions of dollars, Epstein owned two islands in the US Virgin Islands (there are roughly 50 islands overall). He had donated generously to Democratic politicians from the US Virgin Islands for years. With the assistance of the US Virgin Islands' first lady, Epstein navigated the territory's political waters unscathed. The court records show that, at least in the US Virgin Islands, he exerted influence with little friction.

Middle-income households are less likely to have access to resources like Medicaid and food stamps. The report, by Drexel's Autism Institute, looked at the intersection of poverty, race, and health outcomes for autistic youth. Children with autism from middle-income households, or households at 200% to 399% of the federal poverty line, actually had the worst health outcomes out of all income classes. The first, Dr. Anderson pointed out, was that middle-income households are less likely to be eligible for Medicaid. While some states offer waivers for kids with autism from middle-income households, it's far from a universal practice.
The scenes come as Title 42 is set to expire just before midnight on Thursday. But Brandon Judd, president of the National Border Patrol Council representing U.S. border agents, confirmed that agents distributed the handouts. Judd said border officials were working to process as many migrants as possible before Title 42 ends. The flyer also said migrants must report to border authorities before accessing El Paso shelters, an assertion advocates said was not true. But hours later, after seeing other migrants return with U.S. paperwork, he lined up at a border patrol station.

Rome foot-dragging can help EU kick bad aid habits
  + stars: | 2023-04-18 | by ( Rebecca Christie | ) www.reuters.com   time to read: +7 min
Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni is trying to pry out 19 billion euros in EU pandemic aid. Economic conditions have changed a lot since it launched its 800 billion euro pandemic recovery plan in 2020. With 191.5 billion euros requested in grants and loans, it is in line to receive more EU pandemic aid money than any of its peers, and 67 billion euros has already changed hands. EU member states approved public borrowing of about 800 billion euros to fund the aid programme. Total commitments come to only about 508 billion euros, according to a dataset maintained by the Brussels-based Bruegel think tank.
Meanwhile, Democrats — once wary of mentioning gun control at all — have finally rediscovered their voice. See heated gun control discussion between lawmakers in the halls of Congress 01:19 - Source: CNNDemocrats’ rising confidence in fighting for gun reform comes against a backdrop of tireless coalition-building from gun safety activists and community organizers across the country. Everytown credits at least 51 pieces of state-level gun safety legislation passed in 2022 to their state-by-state strategy. Over the summer, an NPR/PBS NewsHour/Marist poll found that 59% of American adults think it’s more important to control gun violence than to protect gun rights (35%) — “its highest point in nearly a decade.” These figures have surely factored into Democrats new assertiveness on gun control. “Republicans look completely unreasonable when they won’t even discuss background checks, gun safety measures like storage or red flag laws,” Del Percio warned.

Typically, when your credit card is about to expire, as mine was, the bank sends you a new card a few weeks ahead of time. All told, the gang allegedly stole hundreds of identities and defrauded retailers and credit card companies of $1.3 million. Whoever hacked my identity, it makes sense that they started with my credit card.
"In the months ahead, volatility may come and go," Vanguard global chief economist Joe Davis said last week. "And for all of us, I think it's important to remember to focus on what we can control," he said. By staying invested in the markets, investors have a better chance of success when it comes to achieving their long-term goals, Davis said. There are a few things to keep in mind that can help you stick through market turbulence, advisors say. "It's important to remember that by staying invested, you're playing the game of compounding your returns," Boneparth said.
Republicans have refused to raise the nation's $31.4 trillion debt ceiling unless Democrats agree to sharp spending cuts. "We have to use this debt ceiling issue to pry the nation's maxed-out credit card from Joe Biden's hands," Republican Senator Roger Marshall said. Not touching those, or failing to cut defense spending, leaves little chance of addressing the government's budget deficit. Young said the White House looked forward to seeing a Republican budget that suggests the programs are off the table. Republicans are determined to avoid tax hikes and to preserve tax cuts for the wealthy implemented under former President Donald Trump.
Remote tech-talent startup Andela is acquiring the engineering assessment platform Qualified. Companies outside of tech are still hungry for engineering talent, Andela CEO Jeremy Johnson said. Founded in 2014 with an initial focus on training and hiring African engineers, Andela now connects companies with remote technical workers in 170 countries worldwide. At first glance, the deal seems to counter prevailing trends in the tech industry: Startups are widely seeking to preserve cash as venture capital funding has slowed down, and tech companies of all sizes have undergone significant layoffs. "They've all realized they have to become tech companies," he said.
