On Thursday, the yield on the US 30-year Treasury bond hit its highest since 2011 and the 10-year note notched its best return since October 2022. Bond yields go up as bond prices fall. What it means: Higher bond yields could mean bad news for stocks: Bonds compete with stocks for investors’ dollars, and when yields go up, equities often go down. If international bond yields rise, the demand for US bonds may decrease, meaning the US may have to offer even higher yields to attract investors. Still, whatever happens abroad, Turnquist said the key to bringing Treasury yields down will be a slower US economy.

Ms. Swift’s tour alone is on pace to earn over a billion dollars, while Harry Styles’ Love On Tour ended a couple of weeks ago as the fourth-highest-grossing tour of all time. Elton John wrapped a tour earlier this summer that stands as the highest-grossing of all time — at least for now. While the average ticket price for the Bruce Springsteen tour is an already hefty $250, thanks to so-called dynamic pricing, tickets have been on sale for as much as $5,000. Montecito is where Gwyneth Paltrow goes when the pressures of Brentwood are too much. Jennifer Aniston bought a $16.5 million property from Ms. Winfrey, who had not had time to use it. But it’s not just the famous who come to Montecito, it’s also the straight-up rich. Montecito is loaded with the less-recognizable names behind very recognizable things, including Ty Warner, the press-shy inventor of Beanie Babies, who lives in a rose-colored mansion with views of the whole landscape. It’s a dizzying combination of old wealth, new wealth and outrageous physical beauty that has begun to attract an ever-wider range of dreamers.

Shortly after the verdict, Mr. Spacey walked out of the courthouse — shaking the hands of several jurors on the way and kissing two security guards on the cheek — and gave a brief statement to a throng of waiting reporters. During the almost monthlong trial in London, the court heard from four men who said that Mr. Spacey assaulted them between 2001 and 2013. One complainant told the British police that Mr. Spacey touched him multiple times without his consent. During the trial, Mr. Spacey — who appeared under his full name, Kevin Spacey Fowler — said that the pair had a consensual “naughty relationship.” The actor added that he felt “crushed” by the complainant’s characterization of their encounters. Blur quite simply knock it out of Wembley’s capacious park, playing a superbly varied setlist of both hits from their mid-1990s heyday, and more reflective album tracks. Singer Damon Albarn was at times emotional -- a measure of how much the achievement of playing Wembley means to him and the band. The 10 p.m. curfew means a wistful “The Universal” echoes in people’s heads as they make their way home. Blur limit their outings such that fans appreciate them all the more when they do tour. Exactly how much Swift's tour has earned is unclear, as it hasn't been reporting nightly grosses to Billboard Boxscore, which tracks concert tour data. Last December, Billboard estimated that Swift's tour would gross $590 million based on 52 tour dates. This suggests that over $1 billion in total gross revenue is likely. With the added dates, another estimate has Swift taking in a total of $1.4 billion in gross revenue, according to concert data tracker Pollstar. Based on the survey's findings, total spending on Taylor Swift's tour in 2023 is expected to be around $5 billion.

CNN —Dolly Parton isn’t interested in living on through artificial intelligence. The “Jolene” singer was asked about AI technology during a press conference in London that she appeared at to promote her upcoming album “Rockstar.”“I think I’ve left a great body of work behind,” Parton said, adding she doesn’t know how “they’ll keep me around.”She went on to say that she hopes albums like “Rockstar” will preserve her everlasting legacy, and that she’ll “have to decide on how much of that high-tech stuff I want to be involved in because I don’t want to leave my soul here on this Earth.”With a laugh, Parton said she feels like with that kind of technology she’d be “grounded here forever, so when I’m gone I want to fly with it.”“But I’ll be around, we’ll find ways to keep me here,” she said reassuringly, going on to thank the person who asked her the question and saying “I’m glad to know you still want me around.”For the time being, at least, Parton isn’t going anywhere. The country music star is set to release her hotly-anticipated album “Rockstar,” marking her first-ever rock and roll record featuring collaborations with music legends such as Sir Paul McCartney, Elton John and Stevie Nicks. The album also features collaborations with her goddaughter Miley Cyrus, Lizzo and Pink. Parton’s foray into rock genre comes after she was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2022 after initially opting to “respectfully bow out,” saying in a statement on her Instagram at the time that she didn’t feel she’d “earned that right.”“Rockstar” will be released globally on November 17.
