If Murray is unable to play singles, he may still participate in the men’s doubles alongside his brother Jamie. “I’m going to wait until the last minute to see if I’m going to be able to and I’ve earned that right to do that. I would say it’s probably more likely that I’m not able to play singles right now. That can be special as well.”Looking beyond Wimbledon, Murray is planning his retirement from the sport and says the Olympic Games in Paris could well be his last tournament. “But if I’m able to play at Wimbledon and if I’m able to play at the Olympics, that’s most likely going to be it.”

Just inside the door to the studio of the Brazilian artists Osgemeos is a self-portrait. Spray painted onto the concrete wall of the old metal workshop’s entryway, the image shows the identical twins Otávio and Gustavo Pandolfo, 50, standing next to each other, hands at their sides and looking forward. They’re wearing colorful printed clothing, bags slung over their shoulders and baseball caps propped on their heads. Here, preparations are underway for “Endless Story,” their first museum survey of work in the United States. One of the brothers’ imposing sculptures, wrapped in black plastic so it can be shipped for the exhibition, hangs from chains on the sweeping ceiling and another is tucked away in a corner, a smidgen of what looks like a subway car visible.

Walgreens on Thursday reported fiscal third-quarter earnings that fell short of expectations and slashed its full-year adjusted profit outlook, citing a "challenging" environment for pharmacies and U.S. consumers. Still, Walgreens topped revenue estimates for the quarter on strong performance in its health-care segment. The company reported a net income of $344 million, or 40 cents per share, for the quarter. The company has not offered that guidance since October, when it said it expected $141 billion to $145 billion in sales.

As the nation continues to grapple with the opioid epidemic, the Sackler family had agreed to pay $6 billion to families and states as part of an agreement to wind down Purdue Pharma, the maker of OxyContin. In exchange, the Sackler family would be immunized from future civil liability claims. Those supporting the bankruptcy argued the yearslong process had gone on long enough and was unlikely to yield additional money from the Sackler family. The vast majority of known current opioid victims and their families supported the agreement. But the Justice Department said it was a raw deal for victims – particularly potential future victims.

President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump 2024. Kevin Lamarque | Jay Paul | ReutersWhen he faces President Joe Biden in Thursday's debate, former President Donald Trump will have to watch his tongue. Trump is still bound by multiple court-imposed gag orders that limit what he can say about his sprawling portfolio of legal troubles. Why some restaurants and bars are banning younger patrons

Barounis says his age policy was rare back then, and some at the time questioned his decision to keep out younger customers. As Barounis sees it, the uproar over the restaurant’s age policy suggests it might have been too extreme. But the conversation around the restaurant’s unconventional age policy raises some interesting questions: To what extent can businesses dictate who their customers are? In fact, Bliss owner Marvin Pate tells CNN his positive dining experiences at adults-only resorts are what inspired his restaurant’s age policy. Marvin Pate, owner of Bliss, says his restaurant's age policy was inspired by his and his wife's experiences at adults-only resorts.

Some time over the past few decades, a strange thing happened: We started treating chefs as temperamental rock stars and restaurants as a barometer of cultural vitality. But with growing cultural importance came heightened scrutiny of the restaurant industry’s failings: poor pay, punishing hours, a toxic culture of macho aggression and brutality. Into this environment in 2022 came “The Bear,” a show that seemed both forged in the fire of the food world’s worst excesses and determined to seek a way out of the inferno. But the televised fantasy of a better, more moral restaurant culture — with better, more moral chefs — is part of what makes the show such intoxicating entertainment. Carmy exhibits both the worst and the best elements of the tortured chef-genius archetype.

The Opinion Video above lays out the unique challenges facing President Biden and Donald Trump when they meet in Atlanta on Thursday for their first 2024 presidential debate. A lot has happened in the four years since they last appeared together on a debate stage, including a violent insurrection at the U.S. Capitol, many more months of a raging pandemic, the overturning of Roe v. Wade, galloping inflation and the outbreak of wars in Ukraine and the Middle East. Indeed, there’s no shortage of matters for the two men to discuss. In the Opinion Video above, we draw on footage of their past performances, in debates as well as on the campaign trail, to show what each candidate needs to do — and what he needs to avoid — to win the day. The stakes are high, and so is the risk of failure.

OpenAI and Time magazine on Thursday announced a "multi-year content deal" that will allow OpenAI to access current and archived articles from more than 100 years of Time's history. OpenAI's use of Time's content will feature a citation and link back to the original source, the release said. In December, The New York Times filed a lawsuit against Microsoft and OpenAI, alleging intellectual property violations related to its journalistic content appearing in ChatGPT training data. Martin and Jodi Picoult, sued OpenAI alleging copyright infringement in using their work to train ChatGPT. In July, two authors filed a similar lawsuit against OpenAI, alleging that their books were used to train the company's chatbot without their consent.

New York CNN —This is the summer of fast food value meal wars, and Taco Bell isn’t sitting back. The chain announced Thursday that it’s entering the battle with one of its biggest deals ever. “We believe that fast food should be a luxury that every one can afford everyday,” said Taylor Montgomery, Taco Bell’s chief marketing officer. He added that its deal offers “full-sized favorites” compared to some of its rivals’ deals that have smaller portions. CNN, which will host the first of two debates between President Biden and Donald Trump, is doing its best to gin up the old excitement, but the general feeling is one of unease. Time labels it “the dread election.” Across a wide range of backgrounds and beliefs, Americans describe themselves in similar terms: exhausted, indifferent, depressed. A recently categorized voter, the “double hater,” is the star of a report that identifies Mr. Biden and Mr. Trump as the most disliked pair of presidential candidates in at least 36 years — twice as disliked, in fact, as they were in 2020. In an election this close, if the debates make even a small difference, they could make all the difference. This is why Mr. Biden pressed so hard for an early debate.

Shares of H&M plunged more than 14% on Thursday morning after the company reported a smaller-than-expected increase in second-quarter profits and cast doubt over its June sales and full-year profit margin target. The world's second largest retailer said operating profit for the period between March and May came in at 7.1 billion Swedish kroner ($672 million), below the 7.37 billion Swedish kroner anticipated by analysts, according to an LSEG poll cited by Reuters. The second-quarter result was nevertheless above the 4.7 billion Swedish kroner recorded in the same period last year. Further weighing on stock, H&M CEO Daniel Ervér cast doubt over the company's ability to meet its margin target this year. "Our goal of an operating margin of 10 percent for full-year 2024 remains in place," he said.

Then-president-elect Donald Trump shakes the hand of Peter Thiel during a meeting with technology executives at Trump Tower, December 14, 2016 in New York City. "If you hold a gun to my head, I'll vote for Trump," Thiel said in an interview on stage at the Aspen Ideas Festival. Thiel donated $1.25 million to Trump's campaign in 2016 at a time when the vast majority of tech money was going to Democratic rival Hillary Clinton. However, Thiel later soured on Trump and said last year that he wouldn't be funding any politician in the 2024 presidential campaign. That's after he spent $32 million on Republican candidates in the 2022 midterm elections with mixed results.
