He expects there is a potential for GLP-1 drugs to become as common and widely used, much like statins are used to lower cholesterol. Morgan Stanley's Flynn estimates a 30% share of the diabetes market would generate $109 billion on a worldwide basis for GLP-1 drugs. Layer in a 15% to 30% share of the obesity market and that equates to worldwide sales of $97.4 billion to $194.8 billion. Guggenheim's estimates also assume that oral GLP-1 drugs that are currently in development are able to come to market a few years from now.

London CNN —It will be a bittersweet day for Britain’s royal family Friday as they mark not only the first year of King Charles III’s reign but the one-year anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II’s death. Charles is currently in Balmoral – the beloved royal property in Aberdeenshire where his mother retreated annually for a summer break. The Prince and Princess of Wales viewed the floral tributes to the Queen at Sandringham, September 15, 2022. The pair will then meet people from the local community – some of whom previously met Queen Elizabeth II during various visits to the city. Last year, an estimated 46 million people bet on the NFL in the U.S., according to the AGA. Out of all U.S. adults, 35.1 million people or 14% plan to bet online, while 13.6 million or 5% plan to bet at a physical sportsbook. Self-identified NFL fans are expected to place more bets than ever this season, with 37% projected to place a wager. "We expect this to be the most bet NFL season in BetMGM's history," Seamus Magee, trading team lead at BetMGM, told CNBC in an email.

William Friedkin, the maverick film director who helped revolutionize 1970s Hollywood with the electrifying, era-defining classics "The French Connection" and "The Exorcist," died Monday, a representative from his office told the Associated Press. Friedkin won an Academy Award for directing "The French Connection," a white-knuckle 1971 crime thriller about a brash New York City narcotics detective played by Gene Hackman. Friedkin got his big break in 1971 with "The French Connection," a smash with audiences and critics alike. "The French Connection" catapulted Friedkin to the top ranks of American filmmakers, putting him in league with other New Hollywood rising stars like Martin Scorsese, Peter Bogdanovich and Francis Ford Coppola. Friedkin leaped from "The French Connection" to "The Exorcist," adapted from William Peter Blatty's novel of the same name.

CNN —William Friedkin, director of iconic 1970s films including “The French Connection” and “The Exorcist,” has died, his wife Sherry Lansing, the former CEO of Paramount Pictures, told The Hollywood Reporter on Monday. Friedkin won the Oscar for best director for “French Connection” in 1972, going on to be nominated for the same trophy again two years later for occult horror “Exorcist,” the genre-defying hit that racked up ten nominations and two statuettes. Curiously, Friedkin once told Cinephilia Beyond that his original intention wasn’t even to make a horror film with “The Exorcist.”“I recognize that audiences for generations have considered it a horror film,” he observed. “I won’t deny that, but when I set out to make it, the writer and I never had any concept of it as a horror film. Together, they revealed craters on the Martian surface and clouds floating above in the atmosphere, both of which surprised scientists. The highest-resolution Mariner 4 image (right) revealed the cratered Martian surface from 7,830 miles (12,601 kilometers) above. Scientists previously theorized that megalodons were warm-blooded, but the new study is the first to provide concrete evidence to that effect. From this finding, they deduced the megalodon’s average body temperature was about 27 C (80 F). Like modern great white and mako sharks, megalodons were regionally endothermic, which means they had the ability to regulate temperature in certain parts of the body, according to the study.
