Sarah Perl, who goes by the TikTok handle @hothighpriestess, says she has a successful career and relationship because she manifested both. Many of her recent posts focus on manifesting love, and they're particularly aimed at young women who want romantic relationships with men. She's not just saying that to the universe; she's feeding the TikTok algorithm, which likely sends her content to other young women. "I view manifesting almost like the For You page: Where you put your attention is where your life will end up going." For Gen Z, the divide between the divine and the digital can be razor thin.

Nurphoto | Nurphoto | Getty ImagesDonald Trump's election victory over Vice President Kamala Harris marks a historic return to the White House — an extraordinary political comeback that is likely to have seismic ramifications for the global economy. The former president's litany of campaign pledges include steep tariffs, tax cuts, deregulation and a push to withdraw from key global agreements. Trump's favorite wordTrump has previously described "tariff" as his favorite word, calling it "the most beautiful word in the dictionary." And we don't see Trump's secondary tariff pledge — that baseline tariff, which would hurt European companies — as being all that feasible," Galbraith said. Analysts have warned that Trump's plan to impose universal tariffs are highly likely to raise prices for consumers and slow spending.

New York CNN —Wednesday morning, my inbox was flooded with notes from analysts eager to talk about the election’s upside for various sectors. The crypto folks came on especially strong, cheering the success of the candidate who promised them the moon. When the stock market opened in New York, the enthusiasm for these so-called Trump trades went into hyperdrive. Virtually all mainstream economists oppose tariffs on that scale and expect they would cause inflation to rise yet again. “My worst-case scenario is that he’s actually successful with his blanket tariff policies,” Alpert told me.

CNN —Rory McIlroy thinks that Donald Trump’s return to presidency could help unify the fractured landscape of men’s professional golf by brokering a deal between the PGA Tour and the breakaway Saudi-backed LIV Golf. When asked on Wednesday if Trump could deliver on his own assertion that he could fix the LIV-PGA Tour deal in 15 minutes, McIlroy said: “He might be able to. The US-based circuit and the Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF), which is behind LIV Golf, remain locked in negotiations, with the initial deadline for the partnership of December 31 last year extended into 2024. When asked about the PGA Tour and LIV on the podcast, recorded Sunday ahead of the election, he added: “I’m really going to work on other things, to be honest with you. “Great news from LIV golf.

Shares of Trump Media & Technology Group , President-elect Donald Trump's media company, plunged in premarket trading Thursday, giving back the rally in the previous session triggered by his election victory. Trump Media, which is the operator of Truth Social, was viewed as a proxy for Trump's election odds in the past few months. The stock had shot up as much as 60% early Wednesday as Trump was projected to defeat Vice President Kamala Harris. The media company, majority owned by Trump, went public in March via a blank-check merger and now trades under ticker DJT — Trump's initials. Trump Media released a surprise earnings statement after the bell Tuesday that showed the company lost $19.2 million in the third quarter.

Republican presidential nominee, former U.S. President Donald Trump arrives to speak with former first lady Melania Trump during an election night event at the Palm Beach Convention Center on November 06, 2024 in West Palm Beach, Florida. Yet after achieving what is arguably the greatest political feat of his career, the new president-elect has so far been silent on the social media platforms where he is normally a ubiquitous presence. As of Thursday afternoon, Trump had not posted on Truth Social, the platform operated by his social media company Trump Media , since before all polls closed on Election Day. Nor has he trumpeted his victory on X, the social media site owned by his top campaign backer Elon Musk. Asked for clarity, Trump campaign spokesman Steven Cheung said only, "President Trump won a historic election and will now become the 47th President of the United States."

Harris offered to console Democrats over the loss to former President Donald Trump, acknowledging they were "feeling and experiencing a range of emotions right now." Trump never did when he lost to President Joe Biden and Harris in 2020. After Biden dropped out and endorsed Harris, Democrats reveled in the change, flooding donation channels and crushing fundraising records. The Biden campaign was skidding off course, setting off an eruption of party panic. Memorably, Harris offered a stinging rebuttal to Trump’s insistence on the debate stage that he had won the 2020 election.

In the end, Allred’s campaign spent more than $50 million on ads in the race, just between Labor Day and Election Day, according to AdImpact. McBride, a Democrat, defeated Republican John Whalen III, taking 57.8% of the vote with 95% of the vote in. She thanked her friends and family and her late husband, Andy Cray, who died of cancer in 2014, just days after their wedding. He said he persuaded six Republicans to vote for McBride. An effort to legalize the use of recreational marijuana in Florida has failed at the ballot box, NBC News projects. Despite endorsements running the gamut from the Florida Democratic Party to former President Donald Trump, Amendment 3, which would have legalized the recreational use and manufacturing of marijuana in the state, failed to get the 60% voter support needed to pass a state constitutional amendment. Florida voters expanded eligibility for medical use in a successful 2016 statewide vote. For the foreseeable future, however, recreational use of the drug will remain illegal in Florida. We don’t need that in Florida,” DeSantis said of the drug, also urging voters to reject Amendment 4, which would enshrine Roe-era reproductive health protections in the Florida Constitution.

The debts relate to public pension systems, which provide lifetime benefits to state and local government employees. About $800 billion in federal aid during the pandemic obfuscated the long-term challenges of states. As that extra aid expires economically powerful states are tightening their budgets. That could lead to tax hikes or cuts to public services like education and transportation.

Truth Social owner Trump Media & Technology Group, Trump’s social media company, is skyrocketing in value this morning after CNN and other media outlets projected Trump won the election. Trump is the dominant shareholder in the conservative social media company, which has scant revenue and is losing money. When a stock price starts to rise sharply, traders who bet against it are forced to buy back the stock to limit their losses. That’s despite the fact that Trump Media makes very little revenue and Truth Social is a relatively small player in social media. Trump Media disclosed Tuesday afternoon that its third-quarter revenue dipped 5% to just $1 million.

Many state governments in the U.S. are working with less room in their budgets. The federal government put over $800 billion to help state governments navigate the pandemic. Virtually every state also increased employee pay for public employees," said Justin Theal, a senior officer at The Pew Charitable Trusts' Fiscal 50 project. Emerging risks, including an aging population, deferred maintenance on infrastructure and more extreme weather threaten state budgets moving forward. In September, Truth Social had 698,000 monthly active users in the United States, compared with 70.4 million for X, according to Similarweb, a data tracking site. Some shareholders — many of them individual investors and supporters of Mr. Trump — took to a Truth Social message board on Wednesday to blast Wall Street traders, accusing it of conspiring to keep a lid on the stock price. Before the trading day began, it appeared Trump Media shares were poised to rocket higher. The stock was the most heavily traded in the hours before the official market open and rose as much as 30 percent in early trading. Swings in Trump Media’s price set off brief trading halts by stock exchanges on Wednesday morning, as they have on other occasions.

Trump pledged to maintain the current level of bitcoin holdings that the U.S. has amassed from seizing assets from financial criminals.
