With 19 teams still in the postseason hunt entering the final weekend, there was no shortage of gridiron suspense unfolding across the United States. At every stadium before kickoff there was an announcement acknowledging Hamlin and the first responders and medical caregivers. But the Bills that provided Hamlin with the best tribute of all, harnessing their emotions to secure a victory and the AFC second seed. "We just wanted to come out and play free, play loose, play for (Damar)," said Bills quarterback Josh Allen, who also threw three touchdown passes. Despite the loss, the Giants also qualify for the postseason, moving on to the wildcard, where they will face the Minnesota Vikings.
"It's going to be a celebration of life an ongoing life," Beane told reporters looking ahead to Sunday's game. "It will be a challenge for our team to manage the emotions, there's going to be tears out there. PLAYOFF RACEWhile Hamlin and the Bills will be at the emotional centre of the weekend there is plenty of suspense up and down a full slate of games. While a victory would earn the Chiefs a first round bye it might not necessarily bring them home field advantage. Should the 49ers and Eagles both fall the Dallas Cowboys could snatch the NFC crown with a win over the Washington Commanders.

Earlier this year, a man fired three shots in front of a store in the mall, KARE 11 reported.

Several law firms adopted the Mansfield rule in 2017, which aims to increase diversity in leadership. It's effectively the NFL's two-decade-old Rooney rule: a requirement that nonwhite candidates be considered when teams hire for coaching and front-office jobs. Law firms followed professional football in 2017 with its version of the Rooney rule, called the Mansfield rule. At first, the Rooney rule seemed to catch on when teams started to hire more coaches of color and a dozen general managers of color when that position was added to the Rooney rule. "For the Rooney rule to work," he said, "there has to be a true commitment from the owners.

NBA legend LeBron James has called out reporters for what he described as a double standard in the way they cover Black athletes. “I was wondering why I haven’t gotten a question from you guys about the Jerry Jones photo,” James said to the room of reporters. He also questioned why the Jones photo didn’t receive the same attention and scrutiny from reporters that Irving’s actions did. “It seems like to me the whole Jerry Jones situation, photo — and I know it was years ago and we all make mistakes, I get it. But it seems like it’s just been buried under like ‘Oh, it happened,’ OK. We just move on.

The Houston Astros celebrate winning the American League Championship Series to advance to the World Series at Yankee Stadium on Oct. 23. In 1979 alone, Willie Stargell and Dave Parker were among 10 Black players on the “We Are Family” Pittsburgh Pirates champions. “It’s been a story that’s been ongoing since the late 1980s, the decline of Black baseball players,” he said. When the New York Giants used the No. 6 pick in the draft on quarterback Daniel Jones in 2019, they thought they had found their successor to Eli Manning. Then after a few seasons of middling play, two canned head coaches, in addition to the firing of the general manager who drafted him, a new regime came in before this season and indicated it might be ready to move on without Jones. Entering his fourth season, Jones hadn’t played particularly well and the Giants were among the NFL’s worst teams every year with him under center. Nobody was shocked when new general manager Joe Schoen and coach Brian Daboll declined to pick up the option on Jones’s contract for 2023.
