New York led by no fewer than eight and by as many as 20 the rest of the way. Atlanta got 25 points from Dejounte Murray, 18 points and 10 rebounds from John Collins and 14 points and 11 boards from Clint Capela. Dallas also got 22 points, seven rebounds and seven assists from Doncic and 18 points from Wood. Mark Cuban typically only invests in companies if he can see himself — or his NBA team, the Dallas Mavericks — using their products. On Friday's episode of ABC's "Shark Tank," he made an exception on behalf of his two daughters and his wife, making a $400,000 investment deal with San Francisco-based makeup company Youthforia. Robert Herjavec said he didn't understand what made the product unique, and Lori Greiner said she didn't use oil-based makeup. That's when Cuban came back in, saying he'd offer $400,000 for 10% without a royalty deal, because his daughters and wife would "understand" the product. O'Leary, growing frustrated, said he'd give $400,000 for 7.5%, but wanted a 75-cent royalty until he made $1 million.

The Brooklyn Nets have agreed to a blockbuster trade sending All-NBA forward Kevin Durant to the Phoenix Suns, completing the near-overnight teardown of the failed superteam that it built hoping to dominate the NBA for years. The deal, coming just days after Brooklyn traded Kyrie Irving to the Dallas Mavericks, shakes up the league hours ahead of Thursday afternoon’s trade deadline. The Suns are sending Brooklyn a trio of forwards in return—Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder and dynamic defender Mikal Bridges—in addition to four first-round picks and a pick swap in 2028. The Suns also receive forward T.J. Warren. The trade was first reported by ESPN and The Athletic.

Feb 9 (Reuters) - The Brooklyn Nets have traded All-Star forward Kevin Durant to the Phoenix Suns in a swap deal that includes four other players and future first-round picks, American media reported on Thursday. While Harden was traded to the Philadelphia 76ers, Irving moved to the Dallas Mavericks earlier this week, bringing the curtains down on Brooklyn's 'Big Three' experiment. Durant, 34, won back-to-back championships with the Golden State Warriors where he was also named NBA Finals MVP in both title-winning seasons. Both the Nets and the Suns are fifth in their respective conferences. ET on ThursdayReporting by Rohith Nair in Bengaluru; editing by Pritha SarkarOur Standards: The Thomson Reuters Trust Principles.

He averaged 9.5 points and 2.8 rebounds for Brooklyn, well below his career norms of 15.1 points and four rebounds. As he heads to the eighth team in his NBA career, he has averages of 9.6 points and 4.3 rebounds.

History With a Headache for LeBron James

These are strange days for the NBA, a thriving podcast content farm with a sturdy side business of playing organized basketball games. On Sunday, the Dallas Mavericks traded with Brooklyn for the point guard/chaos agent Kyrie Irving, eager to pair him with their young superstar, Luka Doncic, and see if he lifts the franchise, or hilariously steers it to the brink of avoidable self-destruction. More likely, he does a little of both.
After four seasons in which Kyrie Irving was often absent, occasionally brilliant, and always mercurial, the Brooklyn Nets have traded the embattled All-Star guard to the Dallas Mavericks, Mavericks owner Mark Cuban confirmed. The deal comes days before Thursday’s trade deadline and days after Irving reportedly requested a trade away from Brooklyn. The Nets, who are also trading forward Markieff Morris, will receive no All-Star in return; Dallas is sending back forward Dorian Finney-Smith and guard Spencer Dinwiddie, along with one first-round draft pick and multiple second-rounders. The trade was first reported by the Athletic and ESPN.
Feb 5 (Reuters) - The Brooklyn Nets have traded All-Star guard Kyrie Irving, whose tenure with the club included dozens of missed games due in part to his refusal to get the COVID-19 vaccine, to the Dallas Mavericks, according to reports on Sunday. Prior to his apology, the Nets suspended Irving for at least five games, saying that despite holding two news conferences, he had refused to disavow anti-Semitism. That followed a 2021-22 season during which Irving played only 29 of the Nets' 82 regular season games as he refused to comply with New York City's COVID-19 vaccine mandate. Irving was selected with the first overall pick of the 2011 NBA Draft by the Cleveland Cavaliers, where he spent six seasons before being traded to the Boston Celtics. Brooklyn's Kyrie Irving is going to the Dallas Mavericks

The Mavericks and Brooklyn Nets agreed Sunday on a blockbuster trade: Irving — the super-talented and often-enigmatic eight-time All-Star point guard — heads to Dallas, ending the pairing with Kevin Durant that never really had a chance to click. It was not immediately clear when Irving would make his debut with Dallas. And I think for Dallas, they got a big-time star to go with the one they've got." The trade does again pair Irving with Dallas general manager Nico Harrison, who was a Nike executive before taking over the Mavericks in 2021. After the Nets lost to Dallas at home in overtime in October, Irving said he saw traits of the Mavericks being "a great team."
The Detroit Pistons played the Dallas Mavericks Monday night, and were unable to leave Dallas due to icy conditions. NBA games have rarely been postponed due to weather in recent years compared to the number of games missed due to COVID outbreaks. However, the team — still stuck — was forced to return to their hotel after seven hours at the airport. The game was later postponed, according to ESPN. Over the course of the pandemic, NBA games routinely were postponed or canceled due to COVID outbreaks among players.
Bryant is still the youngest player ever to start an NBA game. Getty/Todd WarshawBryant was just 18 years and 158 days old when he made his first NBA start against the Dallas Mavericks in January of 1997. He scored 12 points as the Lakers won 102-83.

If you can't come up with a New Year's resolution, Mark Cuban has you covered. On Sunday, the Dallas Mavericks owner told Bill Maher on the "Club Random" podcast that everyone over 30 should be reading every day. "Somebody 40 and over, even 30 and over, if you're not reading, you're f---ed… because you're not expanding your mind," Cuban said. "I tell my kids… 'Somebody who doesn't read lives one life, somebody who reads an unlimited number of lives.'" But Cuban said he had to adopt a different strategy for his son, now 13, who doesn't like to read.
The big question, for the Dallas Mavericks, is a rhetorical one: What more can Luka Doncic do? The implied answer is “nothing.” The puzzle of the Mavericks’ season is that they tread water even while their 23-year-old point-forward and MVP candidate ascends. Tuesday night, though, Doncic seemed to take the question seriously, and in doing so authored a basketball masterpiece. In a 126-121 overtime win over the New York Knicks, Doncic scored 60 points, grabbed 21 rebounds and passed out 10 assists. The performance marked the first 60-20-10 game in NBA history, and just the second 60-point triple-double.
With 10 seconds left in a late-November game against the Dallas Mavericks and his Golden State Warriors trailing by two, Stephen Curry faked a 3-pointer. Curry was called for traveling—and the Warriors lost. “I didn’t think it was a travel,” Curry said after the game. But so far this season, the protests of even the NBA’s superstars are going unheeded. After years in which it seemed that players could walk around the court unencumbered by dribbling, NBA referees are blowing the whistle much more often on traveling violations.
Just over a minute into an early-December game against the Phoenix Suns, Luka Doncic dribbled behind a teammate’s screen. This routine action becomes, in the hands of the Dallas Mavericks’ 23-year-old dynamo, a drastic and multifaceted threat. Doncic might sling a pass across the span of an overanxious defense, to an unmarked teammate in the distant corner. That evening, Doncic went with another option, sticking his rump into Devin Booker and scooting him backward into the lane. By the time Doncic raised up for a 8-foot push shot, Booker could only smack his arm, tacking a free-throw onto the bucket.
The Mark Cuban Cost Plus Drug Company negotiates directly with drugmakers. So far, that's been the strategy for the Mark Cuban Cost Plus Drug Company. In October, Cost Plus Drug Company announced a partnership with Capital Blue Cross. Cuban said he wanted Cost Plus Drug Company to be as transparent as possible on pricing. Cost Plus Drug Company is considering a test program for insulin that would offer a 90-day supply of insulin, or a total of 12 vials, for $170.
Mark Cuban said there's still some underlying value in crypto despite the ongoing sell-off. "99% of it was noise but there's real value there," he told 'The Problem with Jon Stewart' Monday. Cuban added that Sam Bankman-Fried's arrest on fraud charges will force crypto to "get its act together". "There's the signal and the noise," Cuban told Apple TV+'s "The Problem with Jon Stewart". Stablecoin issuer Terra and hedge fund Three Arrows Capital collapsed earlier in 2022 as the crypto selloff brought to light potential instabilities in the digital asset sector.
Former NBA player Amar’e Stoudemire was arrested early Sunday morning in a domestic violence incident involving his daughter, according to documents obtained by NBC News. The daughter allegedly told Stoudemire she didn't have an attitude, and he allegedly responded with "you're talking back again" before allegedly punching her in the jaw and slapping her on her face and body, allegedly causing a bloody nose, the document states. Police who responded to the scene allegedly "observed blood stains" on the victims' sweater and pants and the daughter's mother allegedly showed police a picture she had received of the daughter allegedly crying with blood running down her face. The mother allegedly told police that Stoudemire "told her to come pick up the victim because she was being disrespectful." The University of Miami also featured Stoudemire in a post on its feed on Friday congratulating graduates.
Mark Cuban says anyone can become a millionaire by following his four rules of success. "Selling isn't about convincing, it's about helping," Cuban told the School of Hard Knocks in a TikTok. "When you walk into a room, you [need to] know your s--t better than anyone else in the room," he said. That lesson may be why Cuban seems confident enough in his four rules to stake his own livelihood on it. "I would get a job as a bartender at night, and a sales job during the day, and I would start working," Cuban said.
