Video of the incident in Blendon Township on Aug. 24 followed demands by the family of the 21-year-old woman, Ta'Kiya Young, for the officer who fired the fatal shot to be held accountable. "A theft suspect drove her car into one of my officers and the officer fired a single shot through the windshield," Blendon Police Chief John Belford said in a statement accompanying the release. Video made public on Friday shows an officer standing next to Young's vehicle as he repeatedly orders her to get out. A second officer comes around the front of vehicle and points a gun at the windshield, demanding that she exits. Young can be seen turning the wheels to the right, away from the officer, before the vehicle begins moving toward him.

He said that once implemented, the prices on negotiated drugs will decrease for up to 9 million seniors who currently pay as much as $6,497 in out-of-pocket costs per year for these prescriptions. This kicks off the negotiation process for the 10 drugs whose new prices will go into effect in 2026. U.S. laws had prohibited Medicare from negotiating pharmaceutical prices as part of its prescription drug program that began about 20 years ago. CMS Director Dr. Meena Seshamani said Medicare plans to use a review process to make sure insurance companies keep clinically appropriate access to negotiated drugs. Two analysts said they expect the negotiated prices to move beyond Medicare and affect commercial markets for these drugs by 2026, when they come into effect.

CNN —A Swedish court has fined environmental activist Greta Thunberg after finding her guilty of disobeying law enforcement, a Malmö City Court spokesperson told CNN Monday. The court imposed a fine of approximately $144, in the form of 30 daily fines of 50 Swedish krona ($4.80), according to the Malmö City Court spokesperson. CNN has reached out to the Greta Thunberg Foundation for comment. Irma Kjellström, spokesperson for activist group Ta Tillbaka Framtiden, which organized the June protest, said Thunberg was one of many young people blocking oil tankers. In January, Thunberg was detained by police during a protest in the village of Lützerath, Germany, over the expansion of a coal mine.

JERUSALEM, July 23 (Reuters) - A deal for two shareholders in Israeli financial firm Phoenix Group (PHOE1.TA) to sell control of the group to a consortium led by Abu Dhabi state holding company ADQ has fallen through, a regulatory filing showed on Sunday. However a non-binding agreement was "mutually terminated", the sellers said in a letter to Phoenix that was posted on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange. The letter cited regulatory limitations that would prevent members of the UAE consortium from making other "material investments in Israel". A spokesperson for ADQ told Reuters the group had no comment on the matter. Phoenix Group, one of Israel's largest financial companies, has a market capitalisation of around 9.85 billion shekels.
