The case relates to an alleged 5.38 billion Indian rupees ($65.06 million) bank fraud case filed by state lender Canara Bank (CNBK.NS). The losses to a consortium of nine lenders is much larger, at 59.6 billion Indian rupees ($720.78 million), ED said. The bank had filed a complaint in May against the airline, Goyal, his wife and a former airline director for "causing wrongful loss" to the lender. Goyal founded Jet Airways in 1992 but shut down operations in April 2019 after running out of cash.

Citing a source within the Jordanian armed forces, the state agency said in a statement the drone was "taken control of and downed". The Jordanian military has previously downed drones from Syria carrying narcotics or weapons but has rarely identified seized drugs as crystal meth. Military and security officials from Jordan and Syria have met to discuss ways to curb the growing smuggling problem. Despite pledges by Damascus, Jordan says it has not seen any real attempt to clamp down on the illicit trade.

"There were too many of them on the (migrant) boat," she told Reuters by phone as she returned to the shore. Thorel, who shared a picture of migrants on the rescue boat, wrapped in survival blankets, said no one died on the boat she was involved with rescuing. UK government figures show that the number of migrant Channel crossings since the start of 2018 exceeded 100,000 this week.

The tiny island became a symbol of Ukrainian defiance on the war's first day after Ukrainian guards famously refused to surrender to Russian forces. The strategic island overlooks sea lanes to Odesa, Ukraine's main Black Sea port. One of them radioed back "Russian warship, go fuck yourself." On June 30, Russia abandoned Snake Island after taking heavy losses trying to defend it. Russia still holds swathes of territory in eastern and southern Ukraine but Zelenskiy said on Monday his troops had made some progress gaining ground in a counteroffensive after a "difficult week".
