While my sleepovers were better than theirs, their experiences in other areas of their childhood seem much better. And while I'm happy they get to have those experiences, I'm also starting to get a little jealous. They don't have to spend hours at church like I didOf all the shared life experiences, church activity makes me the most envious. WASHINGTON — As president, Donald Trump slashed a lucrative tax break enjoyed by coastal donors and suburban swing-state voters. What shifted more than the economy is Trump's needs, said Caroline Bruckner, managing director of American University's Kogod Tax Policy Center. The reversal is one of a flurry of freebies that Trump and his rival, Vice President Kamala Harris, are offering voters in the stretch run before Election Day. Trump’s proposal to repeal the SALT cap, which is set to expire next year if Congress takes no action, would reduce federal revenue by $1.2 trillion over a decade, according to CRFB’s estimate. But many voters in those counties would stand to benefit considerably from a repeal of the SALT cap.

Found Golf Balls CEO Shaun Shienfield, whose company recovers and resells millions of lost balls across the US and Canada each year, told CNN that he gauged the average to be between three and four each round. Using Shienfield’s low estimate, that’s over 1.5 billion balls lost in the US every year since 2020. “While precise global estimates are challenging … the worldwide figure could easily exceed 3 to 5 billion golf balls lost each year,” Petersen told CNN. Mitchell Schols, founder of Canada-based Biodegradable Golf Balls, put a “very conservative” estimate for North America at one million balls lost to oceans annually. One UK-based man told CNN in 2015 that he could earn up to £100,000 (about $114,000) annually by diving to retrieve golf balls from lakes on golf courses.

SHANGHAI — The normally bustling financial hub of Shanghai was brought to a standstill Monday as residents sheltered at home to wait out the worst of Typhoon Bebinca. The Category 1 storm, which made landfall in Shanghai on Monday morning, is the most powerful tropical cyclone to directly hit the city in more than seven decades. Packing top wind speeds of 94 miles per hour near its eye, Bebinca landed in the city of nearly 25 million around 7:30 a.m. (7:30 p.m. Sunday ET), state media reported, the strongest storm to strike Shanghai since Typhoon Gloria in 1949. Resorts in Shanghai, including Shanghai Disney Resort, Jinjiang Amusement Park and Shanghai Wild Animal Park, have been temporarily closed and many ferries halted. We have also focused on using our favorite strategy to save on travel — using travel rewards credit card points to get some of it for free. While we mostly rely on airline miles to save money on travel, we also use flexible rewards points and hotel points for some aspects of our plans. My husband's birthday trip to MemphisI was able to book my husband a surprise weekend getaway for his 45th birthday this year using credit card rewards. Still, using rewards to take the sting out of what would otherwise be an expensive trip feels like a win when it makes sense.
