A Russian missile strike killed three civilians in the eastern Ukrainian city of Kostyantynivka early Friday, in the latest attack on areas where Ukrainian forces have been gathering troops and supplies to send into the battle for the city of Bakhmut. The attack struck a government-run center where civilians in besieged areas go to get warm, collect water, charge devices and use the internet, according to Ukrainian police. Two missiles struck the facility around 1 a.m., causing part of the building to collapse. Two people were pulled alive from the rubble.
Russian forces are trying to force Ukrainian troops to withdraw from the eastern city of Bakhmut, according to Western military analysts, but are unlikely to encircle the city in the near future. The Institute for the Study of War, a Washington-based think tank, said Saturday night that Russian troops were “creating a tactically challenging turning movement in urban areas in northern Bakhmut.”
International prosecutors including U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland, third from left center, met to discuss the international response to aggression against Ukraine. LVIV, Ukraine—Representatives from seven countries agreed Saturday to establish an international center for prosecuting the crime of aggression, which they hope will be a first step toward going after the top Russian officials responsible for invading Ukraine. At a summit in Lviv that brought together leaders from across the Western world, officials from Ukraine, the Baltic states, Poland, Romania and Slovakia signed the agreement to create the new center in The Hague.

Experts said pathological lying could exist on its own or be a feature of a personality disorder. What drives compulsive liars, and is George Santos one? Many psychologists say compulsive lying is often a feature of a personality disorder, such as antisocial-personality disorder or narcissistic-personality disorder. Curtis explained that it is important to distinguish people who are just pathological liars, and those that engage in pathological lying as part of a personality disorder — a key difference being that pathological liars do typically exhibit some remorse about lying. "That is unusual for him and unusual for many of the cases that we've explored of pathological liars," Hart said.
ORIKHIV, Ukraine—Ukraine last summer stunned Russian troops with precision strikes from U.S.-supplied Himars mobile rocket launchers. Now an even more potent rocket system holds the potential to re-energize Kyiv’s troops. U.S. officials are expected Friday to say they will give Ukraine new Ground-Launched Small Diameter Bombs, precision-guided, 250-pound explosives that are strapped to rockets and can be fired from a Himars or another launcher. The armament, which has never been deployed and is only at the start of production, has a range of roughly 94 miles, or around twice the range of current Himars shells.

The recording was reportedly made on January 30 inside Santos' office by Derek Myers, a journalist and prospective staffer that Santos ultimately decided not to hire. Myers told TPM the remark stunned him, given the accusations Santos faces about his own misconduct. "I trust his judgment more than my own judgment," Santos added.

This is needed to stop Russian aggression, help Ukraine and restore peace in Europe quickly. Germany as the leading European power has special responsibility in this regard.”
