Read previewTesla is facing increasing pushback from investors regarding its bid to reinstate Elon Musk's $55 billion pay package. The fund initially voted for Musk's pay package when it was taken to a shareholder vote in 2018. Separately, proxy advisory firm Glass Lewis said in a report on Saturday that the pay plan was "excessive" and presented investors with "uncertain benefits and additional risk." Tesla has also argued the compensation plan is "critical to the future success of Tesla" and has even paid for a handful of advertisements promoting the pay plan. Shareholders will be asked to vote on several proposals in addition to the proposal to reinstate Musk's pay package, which was struck down by a Delaware judge earlier this year.

The bombs used in the Israeli strike that killed dozens of Palestinians in a camp for displaced people near Rafah on Sunday were made in the United States, according to weapons experts and visual evidence reviewed by The New York Times. U.S. officials have been encouraging the Israeli military for months to increase the use of GBU-39 bombs in Gaza because they are generally more precise and better suited to urban environments than larger bombs, including U.S.-made 2,000-pound bombs that Israel routinely uses. “This is the smallest munition that our jets can use.”In response to questions from The Times, the Israeli military declined to specify the munition used. Exxon filed for arbitration in March to defend the rights it claims under the joint operating agreement. Chevron and Hess have told investors that the pending deal would terminate if Exxon prevails in the dispute. Hess shareholders would bear the risk if the deal terminates because Chevron is not obligated to pay a termination fee, according to ISS. Exxon is seeking to confirm its rights under the joint operating agreement and find out the value placed on Hess' Guyana assets under the deal, Woods said. Chevron has repeatedly maintained that the Exxon's claims under the joint operating agreement do not apply to its acquisition of Hess.

“That show was so Black,” my 8-year-old whispered after we saw “The Wiz” on Broadway. He hadn’t made this observation last fall after seeing a performance of the show in Baltimore, during the national tour that preceded this revival. So I was curious: What had changed, and why was this iteration more culturally resonant for him than even the 1978 movie starring Diana Ross and Michael Jackson or NBC’s 2015 “The Wiz Live!” special that I’d screened for him. I suspected my son was drawn to this version’s colloquial expressions (“All I got to do is stay Black and die,” Evillene tells Dorothy), choreography (ranging from Atlanta street dancing to South African amapiano) and its casting of Wayne Brady as the Wiz, who greets the Scarecrow and the Tinman with a dap. (Brady will depart the production on June 12.)

Donald Trump on Monday again denied rape and defamation claims against him by writer E. Jean Carroll, nabbing the attention of her lawyer. Kaplan later ruled in the civil defamation case in January that as president Trump defamed Carroll after she accused him in 2019 of rape. Carroll's lawyer Roberta Kaplan swiftly responded to Trump's post, "We have said several times since the last jury verdict in January that all options were on the table. The Biden campaign also responded to Trump's post on X and wrote, "Trump posts Memorial Day message with zero mention of fallen American service members, instead calling those who don't support him "'Human Scum.'" Then continued, "As we said after the last jury verdict, we continue to monitor every statement that Donald Trump makes about our client, E. Jean Carroll."

Anna Moneymaker | Getty ImagesA dispute over whether to accept American motorsports giant Andretti Global as Formula One's 11th team is reaching boiling point. It's the latest twist in the Andretti saga, which started in October 2023 when the sport's governing body, the FIA, approved the American team's bid to join the grid. Three months later, F1, the sport's commercial arm, quashed the bid, arguing that Andretti wouldn't be competitive in 2025 or 2026. These new entrants would also be obliged to operate out of a region not currently represented by F1 teams. It isn't just in Washington where support for Andretti is growing, explained Andretti.

The activist firm later claimed Gildan's board was showing a "complete disregard for sound corporate governance." The last time an entire board resigned during an activist battle was in 2012, when Canadian Pacific's board yielded to Bill Ackman hours before the railroad's annual meeting. "We are deeply grateful for the outpouring of support that Browning West's slate and plan have received from our fellow shareholders, Gildan employees, and leading proxy advisory firms," Browning West's Usman Nabi and Peter Lee said in a statement. "It can be good — especially as TikTok moves to TikTok Shop — if they're able to capitalize on this shift and sell products more effectively to older users." Just because something is going viral on TikTok doesn't necessarily mean Gen Z is behind it. The same could be said of Gen Z, which would explain the generations' shared fascination with a time before smartphones and round-the-clock news.
