Los Angeles quarterback Justin Herbert left the Chargers’ 20-10 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers early Sunday after appearing to reaggravate the high-ankle sprain that had sidelined him in practice in the days leading up to the game. Herbert did not play the entire fourth quarter as the Chargers (2-1) lost for the first time, while Pittsburgh (3-0) remained undefeated under quarterback Justin Fields. The ground game wasn’t a boost, either, with the Chargers managing only 61 yards on 20 carries. Herbert left the stadium in a walking boot. After the loss to the Steelers, Chargers coach Jim Harbaugh told reporters that going into Sunday, the team planned to remove Herbert if he showed any sign of a limp.

Russian intelligence services are building up their presence in Mexico for spy operations targeting the United States, a return to Cold War tactics by an increasingly aggressive regime, according to U.S. officials and former intelligence officers. The Mexican Embassy and the Russian Embassy did not respond to a request for comment. “Part of this is a function of the fact that so many Russian intelligence officers have been kicked out of Europe. Those are Russian intelligence personnel, and they keep an eye very closely on their opportunities to have influence on U.S. opportunities and access,” VanHerck said. A Miami man is facing charges after authorities said he teamed up with a California man in a scam to steal and launder over $230 million in cryptocurrency. It appears the arrest is connected with an FBI raid of a waterfront home in the area of Northeast 83rd Street and N. Bayshore Drive. After they fraudulently gained access to victims’ cryptocurrency accounts, they transferred the funds into their possession and laundered the proceeds, authorities said. Lam and Serrano spent the laundered cryptocurrency proceeds on international travel, partying in nightclubs, luxury automobiles, watches, jewelry, designer handbags, and rental homes in Los Angeles and Miami, authorities said. Prosecutors said the investigation into the scam is ongoing.

New York CNN —The Securities and Exchange Commission intends to seek sanctions against Elon Musk over his failure to appear for testimony in an investigation related to his takeover of Twitter, now called X, the regulator said in a court filing Friday. Earlier this year, a federal judge ordered Musk to testify as part of the SEC’s probe of the billionaire’s $44 billion acquisition. The agency is examining whether Musk followed the law when disclosing his purchases of Twitter stock and whether his statements in relation to the deal were misleading. The SEC asked the court to impose “meaningful conditional relief” if Musk does not appear at the new October testimony date. The SEC also said it intends to file a sanctions motion against Musk to recoup its travel costs for the cancelled testimony and for other relief.
