If that is the plot of a slapstick comedy, it’s also the latest knock from Nikki Haley on former President Donald J. Trump and President Biden as she fights for oxygen ahead of the Republican primary in South Carolina on Feb. 24. In a new series titled “Grumpy Old Men,” the Haley campaign on Wednesday plans to start unveiling online videos, digital ads and voter emails that will underscore the ways in which Ms. Haley has argued that the two party front-runners are alike. It also follows her more aggressive posturing toward Mr. Trump as the two head into a heated face-off in South Carolina, the state where she was born and raised, and which she led as governor. NEW YORK (AP) — After initially staying out of the 2024 presidential race, billionaire hedge fund manager Ken Griffin has thrown his support behind Nikki Haley as she takes on Donald Trump for the Republican presidential nomination. Griffin made two contributions in December and January to a super PAC backing Haley's campaign totaling $5 million, according to Zia Ahmed, a spokesman for Griffin’s Citadel hedge fund. The second donation was made in early January, before the Iowa caucuses in which Haley finished third behind Trump and Florida Gov. “It's a narrower road than it was eight weeks ago,” Griffin said earlier Tuesday of Haley's path to becoming the nominee. Griffin was initially expected to support DeSantis, having praised him before he jumped into the race last year.

Citadel CEO Ken Griffin, a billionaire and major Republican campaign donor, gave $5 million to a political action committee backing former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley over Donald Trump in the GOP primary for president, according to his company spokesman. Despite the Haley donation, Griffin also praised Trump on Tuesday during his conversation with CNBC. He has also donated $10 million to a super PAC supporting Pennsylvania Senate candidate Dave McCormick, the former CEO of hedge fund Bridgewater Associates. A super PAC that is backing Montana Senate hopeful Tim Sheehy received $5 million from Griffin, according to a Citadel spokesman.

CNN —A draft resolution circulating among the Republican National Committee would formally declare Donald Trump the Republican Party’s 2024 presumptive nominee. It would also mean the committee would be supporting Trump and effectively opposing former South Carolina Gov. Those victories have led many prominent figures in the Republican Party to coalesce around Trump and call on Haley to exit the race.
