As an example, he cited his inability to review ballots from the 2020 election. If the system is secure, they would have produced the paper ballots,” Favorito said. Favorito has also made connections with election officials around Georgia, some in Republican-leaning districts. Still, after Donald Trump lost the presidency, VoterGA began peddling claims that “significant evidence of fraud” existed in Georgia’s 2020 election. Favorito and VoterGA have made connections with others in the national movement that has cast doubt on the 2020 election.

The solana cryptocurrency could outperform ether and bitcoin in a big way if former President Donald Trump wins the U.S. election, according to Standard Chartered. In a new research note, the bank's head of digital assets, Geoffrey Kendrick, outlined his expectations for bitcoin, ether and solana depending on whether Trump or his Democratic opponent Vice President Kamala Harris wins the presidential election. "Similar arguments can be made for the relative outlook for ETH versus BTC under a Trump versus Harris outcome in the US," Kendrick added. If Harris takes the White House, however, Kendrick said he expects bitcoin to outperform ether, and ether to outperform solana in 2025. Solana valuation Despite his bullish call on solana under a Trump presidency, Kendrick noted that its current valuation looks "richly priced" versus ether on all backward-looking measures.

In a fact-bending blast of disinformation, the former president is charging Vice President Kamala Harris and President Joe Biden’s White House of the very transgressions of which he stands accused. This is false, but Trump, while president, did repurpose FEMA funds to help finance his hardline immigration policies. But in retrospect, the charade featuring his first White House press secretary Sean Spicer was a harbinger of an administration that bucked fact as an instrument of political power. Trump voters respond to his populism and his evisceration of elites and many sincerely believe he’s a response to a march to the left by the Democratic Party. Both Trump and Harris, who are deadlocked in the polls, are chasing voters who may not habitually follow politics.

More than 90% of travelers from Southeast Asia say that gun prevalence in the United States influences whether they will visit, according to a new survey. However, nearly 80% said the likelihood that they would attend a mass gathering — such as a concert or music festival — would be greatly or moderately affected by the number of guns in the United States. Half of those surveyed said they have been to the United States. But a prior visit didn't calm Singaporeans' worries about gun violence to the same extent as other nationalities. Another 5% said they will out-and-out refuse to visit if Trump wins, with 2% saying the same about a Harris win.

And Trump is all but guaranteed to resurface at the Supreme Court in coming weeks to clarify the sweeping criminal immunity the court bestowed on him in July. “As matters stand now, this feels like the court is keeping its powder dry in case the election explodes,” Carter Phillips, a veteran Supreme Court litigator, told CNN early last week. A poll released by the Annenberg Public Policy Center on Wednesday found 56% of Americans disapprove of the Supreme Court. Take, for instance, Trump’s ban on travel from predominately Muslim nations, which made repeat trips to the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court has already dipped into next month’s election in a few emergency cases, two of which involved third-party candidates trying to remain on state presidential ballots.

Assuming the Senate continues confirming pending nominees when it returns in November, the next president is poised to inherit the smallest number of judicial vacancies since when George H.W. 'Set their sights on getting judges confirmed'The amount of judicial vacancies at any one time is fluid and can rise or fall based on circumstances. During his four years in office, Trump appointed 234 federal judges, the second-highest amount by a one-term president. “If Trump is elected, the judiciary becomes the Trump judiciary,” said Maggie Jo Buchanan, managing director of Demand Justice. Some Republicans believe that tradition will continue in the coming years, which could limit the amount of judicial vacancies the next president is able to fill.

But most of all, it’s a testimony to the often-malevolent magnetism that has made Trump a historic and enduring political figure. The special counsel alleged that Trump told family members, “It doesn’t matter if you won or lost the election. As well as the federal election case, the ex-president is facing a similar one in Georgia based on racketeering statutes. In a Friday interview with CNBC's Jim Cramer, Constellation Brands CEO Bill Newlands brushed off concerns about the possibility of higher tariffs, which former President Donald Trump has pledged to implement if elected. Constellation Brands is known for a variety of popular beer brands imported from Mexico, including Modelo, Corona and Pacifico. Constellation Brands reported a mixed quarter Thursday, posting an earnings beat but a slight revenue miss. The company saw success with its beer brands, but the wine and spirits segment continued to weigh on business. Newlands said Constellation Brands is in the middle of improving wine and spirits and is beginning to see some results.

WASHINGTON — During Donald Trump’s White House tenure, Republicans assembled the most conservative Supreme Court in a century. Now, they’re excited about the prospect of building on those efforts by confirming even more conservative justices, as well as lower-court judges, if he wins another four years. Two long-serving conservative justices will be on retirement watch in the coming years: Clarence Thomas, 76, and Samuel Alito, 74. It takes 51 votes to confirm a Supreme Court justice, so in that scenario Republicans would have the power to replace them without any input from Democrats. On the campaign trail, Harris hasn’t said much about the prospect of Supreme Court vacancies under the next president.

Judge Tanya Chutkan unsealed the filing less than five weeks before the Republican nominee Trump will face Vice President Kamala Harris, the Democratic nominee, in the 2024 presidential election. If Trump wins the election, he will have the power to order the Department of Justice to dismiss the criminal case against him. The central clash in the pivotal Senate race in Montana — and the fight for control of the Senate itself — was on full display Monday night as Democratic Sen. Jon Tester and Republican Tim Sheehy faced off in a heated debate. Like other vulnerable Senate Democrats, Tester tried to make it personal — touting his bipartisan bona fides, highlighting his own connections to his red-leaning state and suggesting his opponent cannot be trusted. Montana is the party’s next top target, with Tester running for re-election in a state Trump won by 16 points in 2020. James Richmond, 50, an IT consultant and voter in Helena, pointed to those comments in explaining why he plans to support Sheehy, despite supporting Tester’s work for veterans. An AARP poll conducted in late August found Sheehy leading Tester by 6 points, 55% to 49%.

Though the S & P 500 is up more than 20% in 2024, Evercore ISI sees a patch of volatility ahead as the November presidential election approaches — and the firm has stocks to play either outcome. Evercore ISI thinks that automotive components manufacturer Aptiv could rise in the event of a Harris/Walz win. Evercore ISI called the bank "a flight to quality name," saying it was in a competitive position despite an uncertain backdrop. If Trump wins, Charter Communications is one stock that could benefit from a "potentially benign tax environment" and a pickup in M & A activity, Evercore ISI said. Billionaire investor Mark Cuban cautioned Tesla CEO Elon Musk on Sunday against forming an alliance with former President Donald Trump, because, he said, the Republican presidential nominee may not ultimately repay his political debts. "Elon, there will come a time when you need something from Donald Trump," Cuban wrote in an X post to his fellow billionaire. Trump, Cuban believes, might not follow through on that exchange for Musk. Earlier this month, Trump endorsed the government efficiency commission idea and suggested Musk could be a "good one" to lead it. But the Republican nominee hedged that Musk, a busy CEO of multiple companies, might not have the time for the job, but that he could "consult."

Trump, more so than any American president in modern history, has directly targeted individual US businesses, threatening them with everything from boycotts and canceled federal contracts to unthinkably high tariffs. Deere, the farm equipment maker founded nearly 200 years ago, became just the latest storied brand to get singled out by Trump. Bigger picture, the attack on Deere fits a broader pattern of Trump bullying companies when it suits him. “John Deere is an outstanding company. “Ultimately, it would lead to fewer sales, less revenue, less growth and fewer employees for John Deere,” said McDaniel, now a senior research fellow at George Mason University’s Mercatus Center.

They also pointed to the lawn signs and other symbols of enthusiasm for the Harris campaign in the city. By failing to move enough legislative votes into his column, Trump lost his chance to tuck away all five of Nebraska's electoral votes without mounting a campaign.
