Come December, you'll be able to buy an e-bike inspired by the GMC Hummer EV pickup truck. The GMC Hummer EV bike promises on-demand two-wheel drive and lots of power. The GMC Hummer EV All-Wheel-Drive Ebike goes on sale in December, according to Recon Power Bikes, which GMC has tapped to build the bike. Much like the Hummer EV, the e-bike will come with all-wheel-drive by way of two electric motors – one driving the front wheel and one driving the rear. The GMC Hummer EV Edition 1, the first electric Hummer on the market, costs $108,700.

The Bolt EV and its new, more SUV-like sibling the Bolt EUV had record sales in the third quarter of the year with 14,000 being delivered to customers. Prices for the new Bolt EUV, which is taller and roomier, dropped to a base of about $28,200, $6,300 less than before. The 2023 Bolt EV now has a starting price of $25,600 and, for the Bolt EUV, $27,200. The Chevrolet Bolt EUV is a taller, roomier version of the Bolt EV electric hatchback. Like many electric cars, it can be driven “one pedal” style, with the car braking gently as the accelerator pedal is lifted.

A GMC Hummer electric vehicle sold for $225,000 at a Las Vegas auction last weekend. The sale is the latest in which an electric Hummer has sold for substantially more than its list price. Just 783 trucks have been delivered so far, with a waiting list over 77,000. GMC, which produces the Hummer, did not immediately respond to a request comment on the length of the current waiting list. The 1,000 horsepower truck is a trailblazer in the world of electric vehicles, with a 350-mile range and the ability to go from 0 to 60 in about three seconds.

General Motors unveiled its latest electric pickup, the new electric GMC Sierra, and began taking reservations for a fully-loaded $107,000 version, called Sierra EV Denali Edition 1, on Thursday. The automaker expects to begin shipping the Edition 1 in early 2024 and to add lower-priced versions of the Sierra EV — starting at around $50,000 — later that year. It says the pickup will offer buyers something different when it begins arriving at dealers, even though it shares much of its technology with GMC's Hummer EV pickup and SUV and the upcoming Chevrolet Silverado EV. One of the biggest differences between the GMC's wild Hummer EV and the new electric Sierra might be the new truck's traditional pickup shape. "With the Hummer EV, we found that 70% of customers with reservations are new to EVs, and about 75% of them are new to the GMC brand."

Oct 17 (Reuters) - General Motors Co's (GM.N) Cadillac brand on Monday pulled the wraps off the Celestiq, a $300,000-plus flagship electric vehicle that is the brand's most audacious new model since the 1930 Cadillac Sixteen. Unlike the 16-cylinder roadster that was launched just months after the 1929 crash, the 2024 Celestiq has no monster gasoline engine under its long hood. Instead, it boasts twin electric motors producing 600 horsepower and a 111-kilowatt-hour battery pack shared with GM's Hummer EV. The Sixteen could be ordered in 1930 in several body styles, including roadster, coupe, sedan and limousine. The late historian Beverly Kimes noted that the 1930 Cadillac Sixteen Town Brougham was priced at just over $9,000, or roughly $163,500 in today's money.

(CNN) General Motors is investing $760 million in its Toledo Propulsion Systems factory, which builds transmissions for gas-powered vehicles, so that it can make electric drive units for electric vehicles, too. The drive units will be used in GM electric trucks, the automaker said, including the GMC Hummer EV, which is currently in production, and the upcoming Chevrolet Silverado EV and GMC Sierra EV. It will be GM's first US engine or transmission factory adapted for electric vehicle-related production. Electric drive units include an electric motor, one-speed transmission and power electronics that bring power to and from the motor. For the now, at least, the factory will continue building transmissions for front- and rear-wheel-drive gas-powered vehicles along with the electric drive units, GM spokesman Dan Flores said.

But there's limited capacity to build them, and now General Motors has stopped taking orders for the massive EV. Between January and June, GM reported it delivered fewer than 400 of the pickup version of the Hummer. "We're excited to say this incredible demand has led to Hummer EV reservations being fully booked at this time," said a statement from the company. GM has a target to produce only zero-emission vehicles by the year 2035 , and other traditional automakers have similar goals.

DETROIT – General Motors will close reservations for its electric GMC Hummer pickup and forthcoming GMC Hummer SUV after more than 90,000 of the vehicles were reserved, the company said Wednesday. Closing the reservations is a way for the automaker to attempt to fulfill the current list of reserved vehicles, which extends out to at least 2024. The number of reservations is notable because of the starting prices of the vehicles, which range between roughly $85,000 and $111,000. GM said it plans to close reservations for both vehicles starting Thursday. GM has been slowly ramping up production of the Hummer EV pickup since earlier this year.
