April 25 (Reuters) - The New York Jets are excited to welcome four-time National Football League (NFL) most valuable player Aaron Rodgers after agreeing a deal with the Green Bay Packers that includes a swap of key draft picks, General Manager Joe Douglas said on Tuesday. Under the agreement for 39-year-old Rodgers, Green Bay will trade their 2023 first-round draft pick (15th overall) and their fifth-round pick for the Jets' first-round pick (13th overall), second-round and sixth-round picks, according to ESPN. "Obviously, we're comfortable with how this deal shaped," Douglas told a news conference. "I don't think anyone ever walks away from a negotiation where you feel like you won everything in terms of what's gone back and forth. The deal will also see Rodgers reunite with offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett, with whom he was paired in Green Bay when he won back-to-back MVP awards in 2020 and 2021.
Of course, Hurts' strong performance over the past two seasons contributed to his landing the biggest contract in NFL history. But it also came down to his management team. Lynn and the management team have continued breaking convention and setting records with this new deal.

February 23 - Aaron Rodgers returned to the light. The Green Bay Packers star quarterback emerged from his four-day darkness retreat Wednesday in Oregon, the facility's owner told ESPN. The NFL world awaits Rodgers' decision, with the Packers and other interested parties eager to be enlightened regarding his football future. Scott Berman, owner of Sky Cave Retreats, told ESPN that Rodgers' repose was spent in a 300-square-foot room that is devoid of natural light. Rodgers is due $59.5 million in guaranteed money in 2023 and $49.25 million in 2024.
Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers is about to make one of his biggest decisions. Literally in the dark. “I’ve got a pretty cool opportunity to do a little self-reflection in some isolation, and then after that I feel like I’ll be a lot closer to a final, final decision” on his career, he said last week on the Pat McAfee Show, a sports talk show. He is deciding whether to play again next season, either with the Packers or another team, or if he will retire.
