By Eli BerlzonHOLON, Israel (Reuters) - Yosi Shnaider watched a home video on his phone from his apartment near Tel Aviv. Hamas infiltrators seized the Bibas family, along with more than 200 other people, during the Oct. 7 killing spree through southern Israeli towns that sparked the devastating war in Gaza. More than 100 hostages were freed in a week-long truce that ended on Friday, but the Bibas family - two children and their parents - were not. "And I'm thinking to myself, a young baby, small baby like Kfir, is crying. After two months in captivity, their age and ginger hair have caused the Bibas children to stand out among the scores of hostages.

If you make it a little bit too loose, you can always add a little bit more confectioner sugar in. It’ll fully dry after like six hours, but it’ll start to get a little bit crusty and a little bit thick. The most important thing to do and I know it feels like you don’t have to, I thought I didn’t have to when I first started working with royal icing, but it’s resting the royal icing. You’re going to decorate your cookies, and they’re going to look amazing. And then 30 minutes later, they’re going to bubble up on top of the cookies, and you don’t want that.

To maintain a through line among different drinks, you need a deeply flavorful base. During the holidays, she often makes cranberry shrub by combining equal weights fresh cranberries, sugar and apple cider vinegar in a food processor. Since the shrub has plenty of acid, you don’t need to add fresh citrus to the drinks you make with it. Another workhorse base is oleo-saccharum, which is classically made by muddling citrus peels with sugar before setting the combination aside overnight. In this flavorful base, the sugar slowly extracts the oils from the peels and the sticky-sweet mixture adds dimension and texture to drinks.

@brycebetts132 I've watched every video of the Sphere in Vegas and this new ad is by far my favorite. By comparison, running a billboard campaign in New York's Times Square for one to three days costs between $5,000 and $25,000, according to outdoor advertising company Inspiria Outdoor. A representative for the Sphere Entertainment Company said the company doesn't discuss financials. One TikTok video, which has notched up more than 14,000 likes, declared it " the best Sphere ad ." The Sphere debuted its first advertising campaign in September of this year and has featured brands including YouTube, the NBA, Heineken and Xbox.

You’ve consumed enough butter, starch and sugar to consider bearlike hibernation for the next week. But would you consider this ginger-scallion steamed fish (above) for dinner? Ali Slagle adapted the recipe from one developed by the chef Connie Chung, of Milu in New York City. Chung’s recipe is itself an adaptation of a classic Cantonese banquet dish, simplified for the fast-casual needs of her restaurant. Hers uses cubed fish steamed with a mixture of soy sauce and a ginger-scallion stock.

Seoul, South Korea CNN —An 82-year-old man in South Korea had a heart attack after choking on a piece of “live octopus,” or san-nakji, a local delicacy comprised of freshly severed – and still wriggling – tentacles. When first responders arrived on site, the man had a cardiac arrest, and they conducted CPR, the official said. San-nakji refers to a small octopus that is sliced and served raw, often eaten in South Korea’s coastal areas or seafood markets. Though the dish’s name translates to “live octopus,” this is slightly misleading – the octopus is killed before serving, with its tentacles cut into portions. San-nakji is often served with sesame oil, sesame seeds, and sometimes ginger, and has a chewy texture.
