LOS ANGELES (AP) — Quincy Jones, who once embarked on an international diplomatic tour with jazz great Dizzy Gillespie, will receive the U.S. Department of State's inaugural Peace Through Music Award. A ceremony honoring the 28-time Grammy winning producer, musician and arranger will be held Wednesday night and as part of the launch of the State Department's new Global Music Diplomacy Initiative. The tour was part of a Cold War program to spotlight American music and culture and counteract similar efforts by the Soviet Union. “You’re going to see a long-standing partnership between the Academy and the State Department,” Mason said in an interview. PHOENIX (AP) — David Muir, anchor of “ABC World News Tonight," will be the next recipient of Arizona State University's Walter Cronkite Award for Excellence in Journalism, the school announced Tuesday. The managing editor of the nightly newscast, Muir will accept the award in February at a luncheon in downtown Phoenix. This will be the 40th year the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication has given out the accolade. At ABC, he has conducted exclusive interviews with several world leaders including Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Kyiv last year. CNN —John King will take on a new role at CNN and step down as the anchor of “Inside Politics,” handing the torch to Dana Bash, who will take over as anchor of the esteemed program later this year, the news network announced Thursday. Dana Bash will take over "Inside Politics." CNNBash said that she is “thrilled” to be taking over as the anchor of “Inside Politics,” which airs daily at 12 p.m. Lemon, who was a staple in the network’s prime time lineup, most recently co-hosted “CNN This Morning” alongside Poppy Harlow and Kaitlan Collins. CNN also this month launched “CNN News Central,” two three-hour shows that comprise the majority of the network’s dayside lineup.

New York CNN —CNN will be the home to a new weekly prime-time show featuring Gayle King and Charles Barkley, the news network announced on Saturday. King and Barkley sat down together on TNT’s NBA Tip-Off Saturday to discuss the details of the live show, titled King Charles, which is set to air on Wednesdays. “You know (Gayle King) is going to be a straight shooter. “I want people to tune in to see ‘what are Gayle and Charles going to do?”’ said King. King and Barkley will both continue their current respective roles while working with CNN, with King anchoring CBS Mornings and Barkley at WBD Sports.
