CNN —The iconic puffy white suits that astronauts have donned for decades as they step outside the International Space Station are rapidly aging — but NASA is now without concrete plans to replace them. Astronauts currently wear spacesuits — called Extravehicular Activity, or EVA, suits — designed more than 40 years ago when conducting spacewalks. Collins Aerospace’s Next-Gen spacesuit, intended for use at the International Space Station, is seen during the design process. NASA plans to retire the space station sometime within the next several years. But Roscosmos, the Russian space agency, has only guaranteed its participation through “at least 2028.”

But the space agency stipulated that it would only require that the vehicle be ready by 2029. A systems outage caused by a cybersecurity incident has paralyzed nearly 15,000 car dealerships across North America since last Wednesday. In an automated voice message to clients, CDK said it is making “significant progress” in restoring its core application. Auto dealerships use CDK’s software to manage everything from scheduling to records, said Saturday it has begun restoring its software. Other services, such as state inspections, repairs and parts deliveries, have come to a standstill in some parts of the country. The data provider’s software, which dealerships use to manage everything from scheduling to records, said Saturday it has begun restoring its software. Car manufacturer Ford told CNN it is working with dealers to set up alternative software systems and other workarounds. New York CNN —Car manufacturer Stellantis is recalling 211,581 SUVs and pickup trucks over a software malfunction that could cause their electronic stability control systems to fail. The company said the issue stems from a defective anti-lock breaking system, which in turn deactivates the stability control system. Using a vehicle with a disabled stability system could increase the likelihood of a crash, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said Thursday. CNN —Ben, the French artist best known for his irreverent approach to modern art, has died aged 88, taking his own life hours after the death of his wife, his family said in a statement Wednesday. Annie Vautier, Ben’s wife, died at 3 a.m. on Wednesday, having suffered a stroke on Monday, the Vautier family said in a statement posted to the Facebook page of the family gallery. “Unwilling and unable to live without her, Ben killed himself a few hours later at their home,” in the south of France, the artist’s family announced. Ben poses next to one of his art works during his exhibition 'Strip-tease integral' at the Museum of Modern Art in March 2010. His works have been exhibited around the world, from the Museum of Modern Art in New York to the Art Gallery of New South Wales in Sydney.

And that translates into a lot of ticked off people who are looking at the Republican Party,” he said. A popular pastime on long-haul flights — drinking alcohol before dozing off to sleep — may present health risks even to young and healthy passengers, according to a new study. The combination of alcohol consumption, sleep and the low oxygen concentration at high altitudes was found to challenge the cardiovascular system and extend the duration of hypoxaemia, or low levels of oxygen in the blood. Inflight sleep already exacerbates the fall in blood oxygen saturation caused by the reduced atmospheric pressure in aircraft cabins, the study states. Under the added effect of alcohol consumption, lab tests showed that participants' blood oxygen saturation decreased further, their heart rate increased and deep sleep was reduced. Even "young and healthy participants" suffered from "clinically relevant" desaturations and heart rate accelerations during sleep, the study found.

A new study has possibly captured that objectively, finding that for teens diagnosed with internet addiction, signaling between brain regions important for controlling attention, working memory and more was disrupted. Specifically, internet ‘addiction,’ which was initially conjured up by (psychiatrist) Ivan K. Goldberg in 1995 as a joke. Das wasn’t involved in the study. “Overall, the mechanisms underlying internet addiction are more like an emerging pattern than a finished picture,” Chang said. “Similar to substance and gambling disorders, internet addiction rewires the brain, making it harder to resist internet related stimuli,” he added.
