With the Magnificent 7 stocks floundering this week, and about 30% of the S & P 500 members breaking below their 50-day moving average in October, where can investors find emerging strength? The structure of the daily chart remains positive as long as Visa remains above the $290 price point, which now serves as potential support. The weekly RSI has remained above 40 during pullbacks in October 2023 and June 2024, demonstrating that the overall momentum picture remains bullish on the long-term time frame. Similar to the buy signal in November 2023, we see this as a sign of renewed bullish sentiment for Visa. And as long as Visa remains above moving average support, this payment processor could be headed to much further gains into early 2025.

So let’s do our best to tell you about Game 5 of the 2024 World Series — the game that crowned the Los Angeles Dodgers the champions of baseball, but also very possibly the craziest World Series clincher ever. Was that upside-down enough to qualify as the craziest World Series clincher ever? That was Game 5 of the 2024 World Series, the only postseason game in history in which all that happened. On one hand, STATS tells us that the previous two teams to do it in a World Series game both won anyway. That would be the Cubs, in Game 7 in 2016, and the Cardinals, in The David Freese Game (Game 6) in 2011.

Currently, more than 80% of India's energy needs are met by coal, oil and solid biomass, according to the International Energy Agency. On the demand side, the Indian government has aggressively pushed policies that favor vehicles powered by compressed natural gas (CNG), a derivative of liquified natural gas (LNG). Meanwhile, the number of households that could receive piped natural gas is more than 300 million. For instance, natural gas is a crucial ingredient for making fertilizers, and manufacturing it domestically helps increase food security. Seth is also optimistic about India's growth rate for its third and fourth quarters despite slower capital expenditure in some states.

CIA Director Bill Burns was in Cairo on Thursday for discussions on Gaza and Lebanon, including a meeting with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi. The US envoys also met Israeli defense minister Yoav Gallant to discuss “security arrangements” related to northern Israel, Lebanon and the return of hostages from Gaza. That makes it likely the war in Gaza will continue shadowing the US contest in its final days. Although sentiment is improving (more on that soon), poll after poll suggests that Americans hold largely negative views about the US economy. And the US economy remains a job-creation machine, adding 368,000 jobs per month on average during the Biden administration, a record high. But they’re still growing at a 3.9% adjusted rate, according to the Department of Labor. A recent study from the Brookings Institution, released last week, found a correlation between economic sentiment and political affiliation with the party in control of the White House. UNRWA provides far more than humanitarian aid in the Gaza Strip. Many Palestinians see darker motives, viewing the UNRWA ban as Israel's latest attempt to make their lives unlivable, first imprisoning and bombing them, now taking away their main aid lifeline. Palestinians wait to receive medicines at the UNRWA health center in Khan Younis last month. Despite its endorsements, the United States is yet to resume funding to UNRWA after Israel's Oct. 7 allegations.
