LONDON — Elliott Investment Management said Monday it had decided not to make another takeover bid for British electrical retailer Currys after repeatedly being rejected. Shares of Currys were down 10% in early deals Monday after the news. The U.S. investment firm, via its affiliate Elliott Advisors, said Monday that following "multiple attempts to engage with Currys' Board, all of which were rejected," it was not making an improved offer for the U.K. company.

Minnesota, which had the most organized effort outside of Michigan, saw 1 in 5 Democratic voters mark the “uncommitted” option, a higher percentage than the 13% who voted uncommitted in Michigan. To start with, who are the Republican voters that Trump will have the most trouble getting to the polls in November? In South Carolina, it was 36% of voters in the Republican primary (and Trump won 18% of them). In New Hampshire, it was 46% (and Trump won 22% of them). Biden won four of 2020’s battleground states by 2% or less, and Trump won North Carolina, the closest battleground state in which he prevailed, by just a little over a point. Her effort isn’t harmless, however: It does force the Trump campaign to spend money that could otherwise be put toward taking on Biden.

CNN —A New York judge on Friday formally ordered Donald Trump to pay $454 million, including interest, a move that will give the former president one month to post nearly half a billion dollars to appeal the fraud verdict. Judge Arthur Engoron’s signed judgment was posted to the court docket Friday, one week after he found Trump, Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump liable for fraud in the civil case brought by New York Attorney General Letita James. Once Trump and the others are served with the judgment, the 30-day clock for them to file an appeal starts. The sons were each ordered to pay $4 million back in gains they improperly received because of the fraud.
