The number of million-dollar homes is increasing across the U.S., but they're highly concentrated in certain places, according to a November LendingTree analysis. San Jose, California, tops the list of U.S. metros with the highest share of million-dollar homes with 72% of owner-occupied homes worth over $1 million, according to LendingTree. San Jose isn't the only California metro area with a large share of million-dollar homes. However, it's worth pointing out while New York has a lower percentage of million-dollar homes, it has a higher total number of them than San Jose or San Francisco. Here are the 10 U.S. metro areas with the highest share of $1 million homes, according to LendingTree.

A Wall Street Journal report Tuesday evening said a bankruptcy filing is expected to happen within weeks, as talks with Frontier Airlines to possibly buy Spirit (SAVE) broke down recently. Because of those discussions, the company said, Spirit is unable able to complete its third-quarter financial report by the prescribed time. While Spirit management tried to move ahead with the Frontier deal, its shareholders rejected the offer and Spirit ultimately agreed to the JetBlue deal instead. It argued such a combination would hurt airline passengers because it would reduce the number of inexpensive airline tickets — putting upward pressure on airfares overall. In January 2024 a federal judge agreed with DOJ’s argument and blocked the JetBlue deal.

CNN —Israel’s military ground operation in southern Lebanon has been expanded, the country’s defense minister Israel Katz said on Wednesday. Israel launched what it described as a “limited ground operation” to expel Hezbollah from southern Lebanon early last month. Despite the Israeli ground operation into southern Lebanon, Hezbollah has maintained a daily barrage of rockets against parts of northern Israel and continues to launch drones against Israeli cities. Netflix's cheaper, ad-supported tier has reached 70 million global monthly active users two years after it was launched. The company said Tuesday more than 50% of its new sign-ups are for ad-supported plans in countries that offer the option. When Netflix launched its ad platform two years ago, the company said Nielsen would rate its content. Netflix offered its last update on its ad-supported tier in May, when it said it reached 40 million global monthly active users, nearly doubling the figure it had shared in January. Netflix also announced in May it would launch its own advertising platform, ending a partnership with Microsoft for that technology.

The broader Vision Fund segment as a whole, which also factors in non-investment performance such as administrative expenses and gains and losses attributable to third-party investors, reported a gain of 373.1 billion yen. It had declared a loss of 204.3 billion yen in the company's first fiscal quarter. The Vision Fund has been cashing in on the success of the September 2023 listing of smartphone chip designer Arm Holdings , in which it owns a sweeping majority stake of around 90%. The group's print benefitted from investment gains of 1.28 trillion yen on shares of Chinese retail giant Alibaba and of 566.2 billion yen on stock of T-Mobile. On Tuesday, it said it had repurchased a cumulative 153.8 billion yen in shares by the end of the second quarter.
