However, the average $1,907 Social Security check often isn't enough for many boomers to afford basic necessities. But, according to the Social Security Administration, their benefits will be lower than if they waited until their official retirement age — which varies by birth year. But, while some extra money would help supplement her paycheck, she's confident in her choice to wait for Social Security. "If I can fight it out until full retirement age at 67, I can fight it out until I'm 70. Are you an older adult waiting to collect Social Security?

"The only way we're going to be able to keep up with the kind of power demand and the electrification that's already afoot is natural gas," Williams Companies CEO Alan Armstrong said in an interview Thursday. Williams Companies handles about one-third of the natural gas in the U.S. through a pipeline network that spans more than 30,000 miles. Some of the largest independent data center developers, which build the infrastructure that houses servers for other companies, have approached Williams to receive natural gas capacity directly from the company's pipelines, Armstrong said. We've run out of alternatives — we can't meet the needs of our customers without using natural gas,'" Armstrong said, without disclosing names. Williams projects natural gas to demand to grow 18% from 2023 through the end the decade across all sources of consumption, including power generation and liquid natural gas, Armstrong said.

Federal Reserve Governor Christopher Waller on Wednesday suggested that interest rate cuts are ahead soon as long as there are no major surprises on inflation and employment. "So, while I don't believe we have reached our final destination, I do believe we are getting closer to the time when a cut in the policy rate is warranted." Keeping with statements from other policymakers, Waller's sentiments point to an unlikelihood of a rate cut when the Federal Open Market Committee meets later this month, but a stronger likelihood of a move in September. "Given that I believe the first two scenarios have the highest probability of occurring, I believe the time to lower the policy rate is drawing closer," Waller said. Williams noted that inflation data is "all moving in the right direction and doing that pretty consistently" and is "getting us closer to a disinflationary trend that we're looking for."

Here’s what led to the dismissal in the Baldwin case. Judge Mary Marlowe Sommer presides over actor Alec Baldwin's trial on involuntary manslaughter in First Judicial District Court on July 12, 2024 in Santa Fe, New Mexico. The items, however, were cataloged separately from Baldwin’s case, excluded from the “Rust” case inventory and not tested to see if they matched the lethal round, according to Poppell’s testimony. CNN —The stranding of more than 140 dolphins off Cape Cod last month has been confirmed as the largest mass stranding of the mammals in United States history, animal rescuers say. A final review of data and aerial imagery of the mass stranding event near Wellfleet, Massachusetts, believed to have begun June 28, revealed 146 dolphins were involved, the International Fund for Animal Welfare announced Thursday. The organization said last month the stranding of what was initially said to be around 125 Atlantic white-sided dolphins in the area could possibly be “the largest single mass stranding event” in the organization’s history, CNN previously reported. The organization said the mass stranding event was “considered closed” by July 8, by which time more than 100 dolphins had been returned to their homes in deeper waters. More dolphins get stranded along Cape Cod’s 12-mile stretch of shoreline than any other location worldwide, according to the organization.

On an Island in Maine, a Meal Worth Traveling For

Brooke Williams and Josh Liberson have hosted more dinner parties than they can count at their two-bedroom apartment in Brooklyn. Entertaining at their home on an island in Midcoast Maine, however, is a different thing, largely because it takes at least two boats and, often, an ATV to get from the mainland to the property, which sits on a bluff surrounded by sea and woods. Williams has been going to the island since 1987, when her parents and a friend of theirs purchased 15 rugged acres spanning one of its hook-shaped peninsulas, along with the ’70s-era board-and-batten cabin that sat on top of it. (They later added a bathroom with running water and built a second rectangular structure onto the original.) Every year since, the couple — and, starting in 2007, their daughter, Ada, 16 — have spent part of their summer on the island, walking, reading, swimming and, in the evenings, building a bonfire on the pebble beach in front of their house for making s’mores.

The popularity of online dating has grown steadily over the past six years. According to the online data platform Statista, the online dating industry was worth $1.89 billion in 2019 and is predicted to grow to $3.15 billion in global revenue by the end of 2024. However, it's worth noting that the fall of traditional flirting isn't entirely dependent on the rise in digital dating. According to Paruolo, Gen Zers have a greater understanding of their preferences and boundaries when dating compared with other generations, which means they are more likely to form real emotional connections. Advertisement"There is a new form of digital flirting that is also more suited to Gen Z's communication style and preferences," she said.

A Manhattan street erupted in anger on Monday when a man in a wheelchair was taken into custody in the killing of a young woman, whose body had been found wrapped in a blue sleeping bag days before. Some got close enough to punch him in the face, grab his jeans and rip the back of his blue-and-yellow striped shirt. Officers and emergency service workers held out their arms to keep the crowd at bay. Some of the loudest screams were from Ms. Williams’s mother, Nicole Williams. Neighbors said he and Yazmeen Williams were a couple, but the family said they were not familiar with him.

Investors who want to support the energy transition should consider backing natural gas as a fuel that can "make a really huge impact" by replacing coal, according to a top analyst at asset manager PGIM. "Natural gas is very complementary to them, it is highly dispatchable and it is very low cost." The U.S. is the largest natural gas exporter in the world, according to the Energy Information Administration. "Pipelines offer a very different kind of risk/reward proposition for an investor than, say, a natural gas producer who is very exposed to the volatility of the natural gas price," Antia said. "When it comes to LNG infrastructure, Cheniere is a company that provides the infrastructure necessary to liquefy as well as re-gasifying natural gas," Antia said.

His high school uses a 100-point GPA scale rather than a 4.0 scale, says Suborno, who shared he earned around a 96 GPA for his first year of high school and a 98 for his second and final year. His father Rashidul teaches physics at Brooklyn Technical High school and his mother Shaheda is an elementary school teacher. “So I told my wife, ‘OK, there is nothing surprising here, he probably did it to capture attention,’” Rashidul Bari said. “That gives him lots of chances to have conversations with different levels of expertise, students, faculties, college presidents, so many people,” Rashidul Bari said.

This was, for the most part, a dismal England performance, regardless of the supernatural deliverance at the end. Everything that was bad about today in Gelsenkirchen had been signposted by England over the course of the last few weeks. The red flags had all been there since England opened their campaign in this same city two weeks ago. And yes, England are desperately flawed, still unbalanced, still uncertain on the ball, still struggling to create chances even when they dominate possession. None of the lingering questions over this England team have been solved.

It wasn’t until last year when the watch reappeared 36 years later at an auction in Florida, the park service said. In January 2020, Robert Williams spent 30 hours in a Detroit jail because facial recognition technology suggested he was a criminal. On Friday, as part of a legal settlement over his wrongful arrest, Mr. Williams got a commitment from the Detroit Police Department to do better. The city adopted new rules for police use of facial recognition technology that the American Civil Liberties Union, which represented Mr. Williams, says should be the new national standard. Mr. Williams was the first person known to be wrongfully arrested based on faulty facial recognition. Law enforcement agencies across the country use facial recognition technology to try to identify criminals whose misdeeds are caught on camera.

He’s going to be a killer rebounder, monster screener and will consistently establish his position even against some of the stronger NBA players. I’m done doubting Edey, even as an NBA player. As an enormous ballhandler with serious touch and incredible vision as a passer, Topić is clearly an NBA player, even if it doesn’t all translate. Shannon is an elite athlete, but the NBA game requires more nuance, especially if he continues to be an inconsistent shooter. However, I also think he’s more than just a floor spacer on offense in spot-up situations and potentially as an off-ball scorer.

Opinion | Is Missouri About to Execute an Innocent Man?
  + stars: | 2024-06-21 | by ( David French | ) www.nytimes.com   time to read: +1 min
On June 4, the Missouri Supreme Court set a September execution date for a man named Marcellus Williams. Williams is most likely innocent of the charges against him. On Aug. 11, 1998, a 42-year-old former Saint Louis Post-Dispatch reporter named Felicia Anne Gayle was found stabbed to death in her home. She’d been stabbed 43 times; her husband found her with the knife still in her neck. Despite the media coverage and the intense interest in the case, the murder went unsolved for 15 months, until the police charged Williams with the crime.

Pipeline operator Williams Companies offers a way for investors to play rising natural gas prices as demand grows due to the transition away from coal, according to the research firm Argus. "Our upgrade largely reflects our more bullish stance on natural gas prices," analyst Bill Selesky told clients in a research note Thursday. Demand for natural gas should rise due to hot weather conditions and the transition from coal to gas, while supply is constrained and inventories are low, the analyst said. The pipeline operator has rallied as natural gas prices have bounced back 70% over the past two months. "The power-hungry world we live in is rapidly turning to natural gas to generate this power," Armstrong said.

Meetings between Spain and Italy rarely disappoint and this one was no exception — even if it was an own goal that decided the contest. Victory sees Spain progress to the knockout stage as group winners, while for Italy it’s all to play for against Croatia on Monday. The one-way traffic continued after half-time, and Spain got to 11 efforts at goal without finding the net. Some will focus on Donnarumma pushing Morata’s header into a helpless Calafiori’s path for Spain’s goal. As the team in front of him were run ragged by Williams and Yamal, the 25-year-old Donnarumma kept things dignified.
