Olivia Melendez graduated from Harvard Business School in May and is a product manager at Google. Plus, I had always heard that MBA programs prefer that candidates have three to four years of work experience before starting a full-time program," Melendez said. In addition to HBS, she applied to several other top-tier programs, including the Stanford Graduate School of Business, Wharton Business School, and Kellogg School of Management, all of which she was admitted to. Melendez said she used the admissions essay as a chance to tie together pieces of her background that needed additional context. For anyone struggling with the admission essay, Melendez recommended an exercise she learned at MLT.
SAN DIEGO — The Biden administration said Monday that it would expand temporary legal status for Haitians already living in the United States, determining conditions in the Caribbean nation were too dangerous for their forced return. The Homeland Security Department said Haitians who were in the United States Nov. 6 could apply for Temporary Protected Status and those who were granted it last year could stay an additional 18 months until Aug. 3, 2024. The administration has extended temporary status for several countries and expanded or introduced it for Haiti, Afghanistan, Ukraine, Myanmar, Cameroon and Venezuela, reversing a Trump-era trend to cut back on protections for those already in the United States. Haitians who enter the United States after Monday’s announcement will be ineligible for TPS, authorities said, though that may do little to discourage some. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, who called last week for an expansion and extension, said more than 100,000 Haitians will be eligible for temporary status under Monday’s announcement.

I work part-time, so I can't afford to give expensive holiday gifts. You may be surprised to learn that there are actually many options for gifts that don't require spending a ton of money. Set expectations with othersOne thing I do to make my Christmas budget-friendly is set expectations with family and friends. If we had set expectations better as a group, things might have gone differently. When I really want to give my friends and family nice gifts, I use a sinking fund.
Antisemitic incidents are now so rampant that we have had to postpone planned lessons on the history of the Holocaust to focus on the present. Adolf Hitler and his Nazis took many things from my grandmother: her parents, most of her siblings, many friends and her childhood. “I love Jewish people, but I also love Nazis,” Ye, the rapper formerly known as Kanye West, proclaimed Thursday on right-wing conspiracy theorist Alex Jones’ show, perhaps emboldened by his dinner with Trump and Fuentes. “I see good things about Hitler, also.” He then took to Twitter and posted a swastika before being banned from the platform on Friday. True, antisemitism dates back thousands of years.
NEW YORK, Dec 2 (Reuters) - A U.S. judge on Friday dismissed an indictment against Meng Wanzhou, the chief financial officer of Huawei Technologies Co [RIC:RIC:HWT.UL], formally ending a criminal sanctions case that strained U.S.-China relations. In the early 2010s, Mr. Mellow set out for still more distant shores, traveling to many famous surf breaks in the South Pacific. Mr. Abdul-Rashed and Mr. Danian traveled to Hawaii to connect with Mr. Mellow, their spiritual guide and Pacific expedition leader. Mr. Mellow posted an ad on Facebook and Craigslist offering $10,000 for passage to the South Pacific. Mr. Schmidt was in sync with the young seekers when it came to fear of Big Brother and vaccines, but dreading port officials brandishing nasal swabs struck even Mr. Schmidt as a little unhinged. When asked if he was at all responsible for what had happened to Mr. Danian and Mr. Abdul-Rashed, Mr. Mellow looked genuinely confused.
My mom worked at K-Mart, earning $1.68 an hour. My parents worked for the Army Security Agency, encrypting top-secret communications between officers — the same level of classified intelligence making headlines today. Enlisting in the Army helped my parents build generational wealthAfter college, my mom worked for the State of Michigan for 27 years. My dad worked for the State of Michigan for 28 years. The military money helps cover bills for my 70-year-old mom, but she believes the direction and support they received in the military had a much greater impact.

Twins Lydia and Timothy were born on Oct. 31 to Philip and Rachel Ridgeway from embryos that were frozen on April 22, 1992. “It’s a tremendous blessing,” Rachel Ridgeway told TODAY. Molly’s sister, Emma, was born in 2017 from a 24-year old frozen embryo. “We really wanted to find those embryos that have been waiting the longest, that have been overlooked multiple times,” Rachel Ridgeway said.
